Anyone up? So anxious I can’t sleep

I’m a lifelong anxiety sufferer, have been medicated over the years but not currently as I’ve been great for a few years. Until now. It’s circumstantial, I have a lot going on right now and it’s all just got on top of me. The last few nights I’ve been unable to sleep, just keep overthinking everything that is going on.
Any advice to help me get some rest?

Have you tried ASMR
I find the light ones send me to sleep
Funny as you think light would wake you up

I also listen to youtube videos of rain / Thunder / The sea/ wildlife. Whatever you find relaxing

My 3rd go to
As silly as it sounds,
I get comfy, close my eyes and think about what i would do if i won the lottery,
How much money i would give to people, where i would go on holiday, what charities i would donate to, What kind of house i would buy
Just thinking of that, stops you thinking about the stress and i find i do drop off fairly quickly

Hope you're back to sleep now and feel a bit calmer@Eminybob!

Oh OP. I feel you. I’ve just lost my job, and also have other things happening. To top it off I have cystitis and have peed twice an hour every hour tonight.

What are you doing for you during the day? Try and get outside and walk for an hour. Or go for a swim.

I’ve been up for hours. Just so many negative things going on in my life right now, it’s difficult to cope, and at night they just swirl and swirl in my head. Things that don’t have solutions, sadly. Ive given up on sleep for now. Hope youre ok OP and everyone else

If I don't fall back asleep after half an hour I take a break and read my kindle for an hour or so. I can then usually fall asleep fairly fast. I tend to do better when I acknowledge that sleep isn't happening right then and doing something else and then getting another chunk, rather than adding not sleeping to my list of things to be worried about 🙈

@cinnamongirl123 sorry you're feeling like this too.

I'm a bit haunted by childhood suicide at present, it does make you think there's only a finite amount of people you know from that age. I'm being a bit clingy with another childhood friend but have to put a lid on it and have accessed counselling. We were both quite shocked, it wasn't nice circumstances.

Thanks everyone, I did manage a couple more hours in the end I think I was so exhausted I passed out!

I'm so sorry so many of you are also anxiety sufferers and going through some shitty times at the moment.
The anxiety just amplifies everything doesn’t it? Stuff I can cope with when I’m “well” just seems impossible when I’m not.
