Trying to sort ds birthday.

Ds is with his father for his birthday this year . So I'm doing his birthday a few days early. I have booked the theater. Its just our local one. I think he will like it though.

He wants a couple of games for his Xbox that are bought in the Xbox library thingy.

And he wants storage for the Xbox.

He's got nothing to physically open. But he does not like any sort of toys. No lego /building type stuff . No art sort of stuff.

He hates getting clothes as a gift.

I feel like he doesn't have much from me at all but it feels hard to know what to get for him. It almost feels like we are not celebrating.

Forgot to say he will be 10

Can you present the tickets in a gift box/basket (if you don't have physical tickets you can could print a poster of the show) you could add some popcorn, sweets, drink etc and chuck some celaphane and a ribbon around it.

With the games could you purchase the Xbox gift card that he can redeem for the games/storage and present them similar as above? b&M have Xbox drink bottles, mugs pjs to bulk it out as as the ultimate 'gaming night'

You could also order a scratch card from Etsy that would reveal the theatre show (if he doesn't know about it). I do these quite a lot as often now tickets are sent to apps so this is cheap and fun way to give tickets as a gift

I could possibly do that with the theater tickets.

Money is always acceptable. I tend to give it with a note that suggests what it may be used for ... clothes, games, whatever. Or they can just blow it.

Does he have any favorite bands or artists? You can get him something from the official store, they usually sell clothes there, but there might be CDs or accessories, things like cups, phonestands, etc.
If you know which game he likes the most, you can make a custom photo calendar with the characters (or use pictures of his favorite singers or movies he likes), here is how you make it yourself or you can contact local photo stores, they usually do things like that.

One Of mine just wanted gift cards one year for Xbox, Fortnite etc. I made a sort of hamper with giftcards and sweets/chocolate. I then just gave them things like a new gaming headset, books, gaming bath bombs etc for things to open.

Thankyou for suggestions . I managed to sort a few bits in the end. I got him some new trainers few clothing items a new xbox controller that he wanted, v bucks, xbox gift card thingy. New bag , and a car to build. Plus we are going to the theater today.

His birthday is in a few days but we are celebrating it today . As he will be with his father from Thursday till Monday.

Kids don't HAVE to have 5000 presents to open for their birthday, for Christmas, etc. It's so wasteful and pointless to get them all sorts of things they don't want or need, and the kids won't learn the value of things when they get everything, plus more. It's absolutely fine to get kids to think about narrowing down their(often vast) wishlists to ONE thing they REALLY want, and get them no more than that. It won't kill them or traumatise them.

I would get your kid the one thing he wants, and then put some money aside for him in a savings account that he will appreciate when he's older.

I have sorted his birthday now . I did get him things he needs . And a few bits he wanted. He would not understand about saving money into a bank account as far as he's concerned I have got him nothing if i do that. He has autism and learning difficulties. So its something he doesn't understand.

I'm glad you have sorted out your son's birthday, I hope he'll have a wonderful celebration.
