Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day in my kitchen spot. I've fed Mountaineer Cat and his sister already, although he just sat on the bed staring at me this morning, so not as bad as yesterday's adventure to the top of the door 🤣

The girls aren't up yet, they won't be for ages I don't think.

Yesterday's electricians are coming back at 8, to finish off the last few bits. They gave it 12 hours yesterday, couldn't have asked for any more at all! Although I did realise, at some point in the night, I should have asked for a second socket on the kettle wall 🤷‍♀️. Too late now I think.

When the electricians are finished...holy fuck this place needs a cleaning fairy to wave her magic wand! There's dust, upon dust, upon dust! So that's me for the day. As well as organising the things I need to take to work tomorrow.

Tonight it'll be early showers all round, and certainly early nights for me and dd2, ready for back to school tomorrow. Dd1 needs to be up early to let the plasterer in but it's not vital she gets a good night's sleep 💤

Gardening in this lovely spring sunshine. Then catch up with family, shower, Netflix and chill, and finish a Richard osmans novel.

Late to the game today. Felt rubbish this morning. Still feel like I’m coming to.

Just picked DS up from a sleepover. He’s shattered but had fun.

Shopping now and have a friends round later. So cooking to do.

Back to work and school tomorrow so clothes and lunches to be sorted.

Hoping to have some time to read and a dog walk too and an early night!

Good afternoon @lucysmam and everyone. I'm late today - although I was up early to give myself time to work out if I was well this morning, in time for chorister grandson to get the bus in to the cathedral if I couldn't give him a lift.

I AM well, picked up chorister grandson and my daughter, dropped him off at 8.30 and then went for a lovely breakfast with my daughter.

I have lots of things to do, I need to make a fish pie base with the fish I cooked yesterday, tidy and clean the kitchen, put the washing I did this morning in the tumble dryer, fold and put away the washing I did yesterday - but I'm currently eating my lunch in front of the telly and then I'm going to go for a nap. Chorister grandson needs picking up at 5, so I will have to fit my jobs in around that.

Not a happy bunny! I messaged the guy selling the table to ask if I could collect it a bit earlier & he replied, saying he sold it yesterday! He did apologise & said that he’d had so many people say they’d collect & then didn’t that he decided to sell it. But if I hadn’t messaged, I’d have had a wasted trip!

we were up at the crack of dawn to take dd to netball and ds to football. Home now but feel like I’ve got a hangover (even though not drank!) I’m so drained.

Need to have a tidy round as BIL is coming later to see the kids. I plan on doing as little as possible for the rest of the day though.

There’s a man changing the hand basin in my en-suite for a vanity unit and another tiling a wall and putting in a different shower and shower screen in the bathroom. They keep trotting up and down stairs and leaving the door open. It’s cold.

Update - someone else has got back to me about a white side table with basket storage. £10 including a wooden lamp which I have no use for but could always sell on. Hopefully collecting tomorrow 🙂

Late again today! Good afternoon everyone.
I have had a busy one for a Sunday.

PiYo this morning and straight out to my volunteering role.
Literally just home.
Leftover Chinese for lunch and a quiet afternoon with a bit of washing to do. DH has done the kitchen and dishwasher while I was out ❤️
DH and DS are about to go to the football. We'll all watch the F1 and have tea when they get home.
Start of the Easter hols here so a chilled week ahead

Been to a lovely Palm Sunday service this morning, complete with donkey!. Had simple lunch and now putting feet up in the garden, looking at all the garden jobs I won't be doing. DH is going to cook tuna for our supper later.

Well...they finished before noon. I went for a nap after half heartedly starting to clean the kitchen & have been at it since I got up. It's not all done, & there's probably no point over-doing it til the rest of the work's completed, but it's liveable & we have a liberal sprinkling of lights and sockets all over the place which is quite the novelty. Dd1 was most put out last night, apparently, when she had to actually remove herself from bed to turn off her light 🤣 instead of tell Alexa to do it!

I’m feeling a little delicate today after having friends over for a bbq which turned to evening drinking. 🙈.

I did drag my arse up and take dd2 to work then went to the gym. Binge watched some Netflix and then took the dog for a walk around the woods before picking dd2 up. Now just about to dish up a roast. Not bad for a hungover day 😂.

@lucysmam will you be reinstating your alexa lights? We use them nearly everywhere!

@DilemmaDelilah yes, I think so, once we get to it. Tbh, she could have put hers in herself & plugged alexa in, I don't know why she's waiting for someone else to say she can 🤷‍♀️.
