Good Morning All! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot. Mountaineer cat was on top of the bedroom door this morning so I got up to feed them 🙄. We all need to be up anyway, 6 electricians are coming in half an hour to start re-wiring the entire house. At 8am. On a Saturday.

I'm not sure the girls are up yet 🤷‍♀️. Never mind, dd2 is!

We have nothing much planned for the day - I've been ill all week so we'll mostly be sitting in the kitchen or garden & trying to keep the cats from vanishing under floorboards.

Later on, I'm off to see Six, the movie musical, with dd2. Not sure if we'll eat out or cook when we get in yet. Either way, I'll probably not be far off going to bed when we get in 💤 this virus has properly knocked me sideways 😷.

6 electricians to rewire the house?! That must be costing you a bomb! My bloke would do it on his own, maybe with one helper. But it would take longer than one weekend and its never fun living in a house while work is going on.

I'm off to Lidl with my brother today, haven't been for ages so I am excited. Going to go to Hesburger (Finnish burger chain) for lunch which is nice treat.

@Natsku it'll be done quickly though! I'm sad enough to enjoy a wander round a supermarket 🤣 Enjoy Lidl.

The man in charge has just been to ask about emptying the loft...fucking hell...I have not a clue what's up there I'd want to keep barring Christmas stuff, a box of giant stuffed toys, and there's some of the girls' school work up there 🙈

Good morning @lucysmam and all. Ds and I woke up at 8am but I woke up with a rotten cold, so we lazed in bed on our devices for an hour. Have just put a load in the machine and I’m sitting with a brew. Feel so bunged up and sweaty/sticky. Will jump in the shower and wash my hair, try and brighten myself up! Dp and ds are off to a fish shop later, we are thinking about getting a marine tank but Christ almighty the cost! We have been saving for it but from the looks of things it’s going to go way over what we have saved so not sure it’s going to happen. I’ll walk the dogs for an hour then hopefully I’m feeling well enough to head to the pub garden for some dinner this afternoon. Will watch a film tonight and get an early night I think. Ds has requested The Goonies and that’s absolutely fine with me! Dd home tomorrow and my mom is coming over for a roast so really looking forward to that.

Morning all! A slowish start today but quite a bit to do later. DH and I had our first holiday abroad without DS (who had a ball at his grandparents's) and we very much burnt the candle at both ends, I'm pleased to say! I heartily recommend a break to Madrid if you like delicious food and general conviviality! But now we're back to normal life with a bang - so much to do and think about. Today will be mostly admin stuff. I have a few things to do for my mum - I'm her guardian as she has dementia - and there's a particularly arduous questionnaire I need to complete for Ds's autism assessment. Plus I want to thrash out what's next for our house renovation. I didn't think about any of this when I was sipping vermouth in the sunshine last week 😊. No matter - I have another 10 days off work now to get a good chunk of stuff done. Might also book a summer holiday to keep me going - poor neglected wean will get to come on this one!

Im still in bed but been up and down all night. Not feeling great.

Not sure of today’s plans now. I am dropping DS off later at a friends. Hopefully I perk up. Have studying to do and would like to do stuff in the garden

DH took the dog out so hoping he appears with a cup of tea.

It’s forecast to rain all afternoon so we’re having a chilled one at home. It’s okay though as we’ve been away all week and enjoying a lot of sunshine. I’m currently cuddling a cat and need to get dressed, but I might make myself another cuppa first. We have a mountain of laundry to get through and will pop out to the supermarket shortly for some nice bits. Then we’ll have an afternoon watching the footy and then playing some board games with DH and DS.

Good morning @lucysmam & everyone. Clock watching as I start work at 12. It’s raining here in Cornwall so reckon it could be insanely busy! I woke up early but dozed til 9ish. Couldn’t go back to sleep properly as DD16 had her bestie staying. Give them their due, they were pretty good last night & the noise stopped at 11 but they made up for it this morning! Nice to hear DD laughing. Had a shower with a new coconut shower creme & washed my hair. It desperately needs cutting so seems to get greasy more quickly. I’ve loaded the dishwasher & switched it on. The washing machine needs more clothes in it to make a load.DH only worked for 2 hours then went to buy some pellets for the bunnies. DD’s friend went home at 11 - not sure what DD will do for the rest of the day. After work, I’m going to try on a stunning ring. I was going to try it a while ago but bought some other jewellery & felt I couldn’t really justify getting that one as well. But it just kept calling to me ( I saved it on FB Marketplace) & I thought “sod it, life’s too short”. Hope it fits! Tea is what we were going to have yesterday (Pieminister pies, mash & peas). I hadn’t realised that the pies can’t be cooked from frozen. Worked out well actually as I hadn’t got anything planned for tonight. Watching BGT & possibly an episode of New Amsterdam. Might dust off my foot spa. Have a good day folks & hope anyone that’s poorly will feel better soon 💐💐💐

DP and I were up early this morning. We both went and did a parkrun, then went for breakfast.
Now at home and going to sort out the garage. DS1 is at gym and Ds2 has gone to the local park to play football.
Later Dp and I are taking the Ds2 to watch wrestling and Ds1 will be at his Saturday job.

So glad I thought to fill allll the water bottles with hot water just before the electric went off...£3 for a coffee at the closest local cafe type place!

Inside's a shit hole...rubble & stuff everywhere 🤯. BIG BIG clean required next week!

Doing very little today as it’s a glorious day here in SE so have been out in the garden this morning! Feel justified today as I had a day off from work yesterday and spent the whole day doing housework, laundry, changing beds and mowing both lawns, then took DD13 to cinema with her friends, picked them up and then they were here for a sleepover. They didn’t get to sleep until VERY late and therefore neither did I as kept waking up to the giggling and wandering about!!

Might do some packing late afternoon as DD and I are off to Barcelona for a few days on Monday - starting to get excited now.

Tonight will be chicken curry in front of Dr Who and Gladiators if DD can keep awake!!

Been busy this morning, gutted ds bedroom as he’s on his way back from a week long school trip, it’s looking fresh and lovely in there (for the next 3 hours until he’s back 😂).
Missed him and can’t wait for him to be home again, planned a bbq tonight as I reckon he’s missed lots of meat!
Other than that, just a bit of housework, used my new floor steamer and did a bit of food shopping for this evening.

@lucysmam I feel your pain! We had a tiny extension and a BIG kitchen remodel done in summer 2020 which lasted months, no kitchen, dust and noise everywhere. I'm so glad we have had everything we need done now. Your house is going to be fabulous when it's done.

Hello! Busy old day here, have scrubbed the main bathroom, now moving on the spare room to get that straight as we have visitors next weekend.

Get the hall stairs and landing sorted and then once I've done that, will do a bolognese for tea tonight, change our bed, have a bath and collapse into fresh sheets!

DH is running all the errands, sorting out the washing and keeping me well supplied with tea, while supervising DD and DDog who are currently playing in the garden.

I've just come home from a weeks cruise to Norway. It was lovely, the weather was perfect.
Absolutely horrified at the state of the weeds in the gravel by my driveway! I had a pulling up session only about 3 weeks ago, but they grow so quickly this time of year. I think I need to go in with some weedkiller. I'll go out and do some weed pulling tomorrow.
Right now I'm having an iced coffee from a can, looking at my suitcase, and feeling wobbly. I need to get my land legs back again!

Plan for the time being is to pick away at the suitcase, and wait for my tesco food delivery, which is scheduled between 3 and 4pm. I need to rustle up something for lunch soon as well.

Bit late to the party today. Happy Saturday.

So far today I've done swimming lessons for 2 out of 3 DC, been to the park, been to the shops and picked up a package.

Just having a pit stop for lunch and DP is taking them to meet their cousins (and uncle) at the splash park / adventure playground and then they're all out for dinner.

I will spend the afternoon reading in the sun - I'll hang a few washes out as well. I've got some left over stir-fry for myself later, just going to add in some noodles.

Will probably watch a film later.

Had a busy day so far.

I dropped DD to work for 8.30, then I went for breakfast, so I could wake up fully and make my shopping list. Came into a little windfall this week, so I went to my favourite clothes shop and bought a summer dress and some summery tops.

Hit the garden centre and bought an indoor plant and assorted plant pots and saucers. I don't have a conservatory, but I'm doing my best to convert my dining room into a conservatory, by filling it with plants.

The garden itself needs a bit of work, but I'm off the week after Easter and I'll tackle it then. Might try to do an hour or so in the morning.

Came home and unpacked the car.

I'm in the process of cleaning the kitchen and disposing of the week's recycling. Just stopped for a quick cuppa.

Dinner will be turkey burgers. I'm going to a local show this evening.

They're nearly done 🥳. The entire thing! The boss came out a little while ago to say they could stop & come back tomorrow, or they can carry on as long as they're all willing & get it done today!

This means I can scrub the life out of the kitchen, at the very least, tomorrow.

@lucysmam that's brilliant! I bet you're really pleased. Nice that you will have your house back tomorrow.

@DilemmaDelilah absolutely - even more so since I won't have to get up (apart from to feed Mountaineer cat!). How are you now?

Very late, so good afternoon all.
We had a morning just pottering, went to town to look for something for my birthday. Epic fail.
We did have delicious pizza for lunch. I came home and left them to it. DS came home about 40 mins after me. DH is still out bless him.
Im watching the final Dope Girls episode, and then the F1 qualifying when DH gets in.
No plans for tea or this evening as yet

@lucysmam I'm fine thank you. Still feeling a bit fragile but otherwise OK. I didn't think it was a good idea to drive today, so I didn't do the pick up... and instead of making the whole of the fish pie base I just poached the fish. I'm going to take a pill to help me to sleep tonight as I'm sure the lack of sleep last night was a contributing factor. I'm meant to be dropping off chorister grandson at 08.45 tomorrow morning, and then going out to breakfast with my daughter, so I need to be well tomorrow.

A bonus though... I took a parcel in for my neighbours this afternoon and when they came to pick it up I explained the situation and asked them if they would mind if I called on them in an emergency, and they are happy for me to do that.

The ring fitted like it was made for me! So glad I decided to go for it after all 😍

Oh goodness, @lucysmam rewiring sounds like a nightmare! I hope the first day has gone OK, and you enjoy Six!

DD and I did our usual horse riding lesson for her this morning. DH took DDog to daycare for the day and then began painting all the doors and woodwork in the kitchen. It is/was orange pine! DD and I popped to town for a few bits and then had lunch in Pizza Express as I had clubcard vouchers to use up. We've just had some lovely meatball subs for dinner and watched the Gladiators final.

I'm going to take myself off to bed shortly, to read and drink tea.

Tomorrow, DH is heading off ridiculously early to go for a skydive! It was his birthday present. DS1 is going with him to watch. I will put another coat of paint on the kitchen woodwork and cook pulled pork for dinner. We've planned a games night with the DC in the evening.

We're just in, they've just left. They must be absolutely knackered! They need to come back for a couple of hours to finish downstairs but upstairs has actual proper lights for the first time in years! 🥳 House is a shed...I can feel the overwhelm creeping as I look at it so I think the plan may have to be everything back where it was & shift one room about at a time.
