I'm having a double 99 with chocolate sauce. DH is having a cider lolly.

I want what I had one summer when I was maybe about 12? (So 94 or maybe was 95?) it was a lemon shaped ice lolly bit like a magnum size but the ice cream inside was lemon flavour and the shell was a hard sorbet (similar to the starburst lollies in the 90s)

Now I miss those starburst ice lollies too 😂

That sounds fantastic, no idea what it is/was, but I’ve changed my mind and want one of these.

They don’t do ice cream vans like they did in the 80s that’s for sure!
The one that came round our way was like a full mobile sweet shop and whatever money you had, even if it was only 25p, you could get an ice cream made up to that price , so you’d just ask for a 30p screwball for example.

It's funny I should see this thread. Dh has literally just ran out to the ice-cream van. I'm not sure what he will get probably a 99 but I'm just out of the shower after running 10km in 20degree heat so whatever it is I am going to devour!
