Holiday book recommendations anyone ?!

We are going on holiday soon and I was a total bookworm when younger. I’d love to get back into reading but I need something lightish , a page turner. I love crime but nothing too dark or violent . I love historical fiction also. I’d so appreciate any recommendations. I’m totally burnt out from work and I’m a really busy mum and I found books so relaxing before so I’m hoping to get back into reading. I’ve also had issues with sleep and I never did as a reader!

I just read ‘Who Wants to Live Forver’ by Hanna Thomas Uose and it was brilliant. Not a thriller but a real page turner.

I recently read Pachinko by Lee Min-Jin, an American Korean. It follows a Korean family over the span of about 80 years from pre the Japanese colonisation in the 1930s to about the present day. I really enjoyed it, knowing very little if anything about the subject (but am interested in all things Korean). Very well written but flows so easily.

I loved it. It would be perfect holiday reading!

The best of times by penny vincenzi is light but really is brilliant.

The persuit of happiness by Douglas Kennedy is another I'd recommend

Just read a political thriller, when no one is watching by Joseph Hayes absolutely couldn't put it down.

If you like thrillers, the Mick Herron books that 'Slow Horses' is based on are fantastic. Great, funny, dialogue, clever plots and very 'current' - very readable.

I also recommend Pachinko.
If you like crime novels and history I think you should try the Ruth Galloway nooks by Elly Griffiths. Really easy to read but with engaging characters and stories. I raced through the whole series when I was coming back to reading after a stressful couple of years.

I’ve just finished Mrs England by Stacey Halls and found it a real page turner. It’s set in 1905 Edwardian England and is about a recently qualified Norland Nanny with a mysterious past who is hired to care for 4 children by a wealthy Yorkshire mill owner. Very atmospheric with lots of twists and turns. The nanny’s past is based on a shocking true story. A brilliant read.

I really enjoyed Richard Osman's Thursday Murder Club. It's like a murder mystery set in a retirement village. There are 4 books in the series so far.

I'm reading Andrea Camileri's Montalbano books. They fit the light crime book. However, he's not as nice on the books as he is on screen.

I've just read The Housemaid books after seeing them in the airport WH Smith (although I actually got them on Kindle Unlimited) when I was going on holiday and enjoyed them, although I'm currently half way through the third one and it's probably not quite as good as the first two. They're not what I expected but found them compelling, which is probably what you're looking for.
