If you have a Skin condition and work in childcare

Would you have to let parents know it isn’t contagious or should they assume it’s not unless informed otherwise by the nursery?

Skin condition involved is very noticeable and has on multiple occasions been mistaken even by professionals as chickenpox (it definitely isn’t though). It does look unsightly I’ll admit.

Hmm sure up to the person? More importantly where do we stop? Persons with hpv must disclose to parents. Then if someone looses weight quickly should they declare whether its cancer? hiv? Or mounjaro or just stress and worry? What else must teachers or minders disclose?

I'm guessing parents would assume you're safe to work with their children or you wouldn't be there.

This is what I assumed but I have been asked if I’d feel able to share with parents what it is so they can feel reassured as there have been a lot of questions (I’m experiencing a flare up currently). I’m just so conscious of it all the time anyway and now i feel really embarrassed.

In winter it was easier to cover with long sleeves etc but with warmer weather it’s harder and if I overheat it makes it worse as the lesions take even longer to scab and heal if they aren’t kept dry

No, none of parents business. I would assume you wouldn’t be working if it was contagious.
one of the staff at dds nursery has what I assume is just very severe acne (but potentially could be what you have) and I know lots of children have asked if she has chickenpox which is understandable but I would be upset if she felt she had to give some kind of defence or explanation to adults.
