The best supermarket chocolate biscuits

I’m doing my online order and I want to get some really nice chocolate biscuits to have with a cup of tea of a night. I can’t think what to get beyond Tunnock’s tea cakes which I’m not sure even qualifies as a biscuit.

Needs to be available from a supermarket no fancier or less widely available than M&S. For anyone about to suggest their favourite 99 carat gold flake encrusted Peruvian 200% cocoa florentines only available from Booths or Harrods, I’m pleased for you, but neither will deliver to me.

Let me know your favourites and importantly why.

Tesco finest quadruple chocolate cookies (in a box). Lovely - and better than their rivals, even branded ones.

I don't know if you can get Jacobs Chocolate Kimberley in the UK but they're my favourites.

Border dark chocolate gingers..... really tasty and moreish. My son loves the raspberry ones ☺️

Was just about to say this - just eating one with my Earl Grey…

MollyRover · 06/04/2025 17:38

I love a chocolate Hobnob

M&S chocolate covered custard creams.

You will thank me! 😍😍😍

Ooh have never heard of those or seen them... probably just as well🙄🙇🏻‍♀️

Lu Le Petit Chocolat are amazing and very similar to Bahlsen. Like a rectangular rich tea biscuit with a slab of chocolate on top!

M&S own brand chocolate digestives or their own brand chocolate covered malted milks

Lu le petit chocolat

I was going to say this, on offer too at Sainsburys Deliveroo.

I can write poems... 😭

Got to be these - Bahlsen Choco Leibniz Orange. They've gone up massively in price, used to be £1.25, they're sometimes on offer at £1.75. The price rise saves me from myself, I suppose! Grin

And now there are only 8 biscuits in the packet!

KnickerFolder · 06/04/2025 18:03

If you like Tunnicks teacakes, the M&S ultimate salted caramel teacakes might be up your street.

The M&S chocolate covered bourbons are better than their chocolate covered custard creams.

Baci di dama are my favourite (Waitrose and M&S both have own brand versions).

Haribo16 · 06/04/2025 18:10

M& chocolate sandwich fingers they've got a nice amount of chocolate in the middle and stand up to a good 2 second dunking. Aldi chocolate chip or white choc chip cookies can also get them dark choc if that's your thing. They're good and chunky and have oats in the recipe which I love!

77Fee · 06/04/2025 19:36

These are absolutely divine. I only buy when on offer though. Waitrose stock them.

I'm a fan of many previous mentions:

Dark Chocolate Digestives
M&S chocolate custard creams (sound wrong, SOOOO right)
Tesco Viennese

Also:
Pick Ups (blue packet) - like Lu but sandwich style. My guilty pleasure

BarMonaco · 07/04/2025 11:35

The Fox's half coated choc chip cookies have got a buttery taste 😋

PenneyFouryourthoughts · 07/04/2025 15:32

M&S extra chocolatey rounds, the ones that I think look like flowers.

uncomfortablydumb60 · 07/04/2025 18:51

I don’t know how the price compares but I know for a fact Fox’s supply M&S

Lidl chocolate gingers, same as the border ones but thinner and I think nicer

I shall put these to the test 😋

StumbleInTheDebris · 07/04/2025 19:17

I always loved Sainsburys Taste the Diff chocolate stem ginger cookies. Might have to take a trip to Sainsbury's now!

I love the Borders raspberry ones too!

Good old Chocolate hobnobs are my favourite "everyday" biscuits.

Manon10 · 07/04/2025 19:53

Sainsbury’s dark chocolate digestives, a good chocolate flavour, not too sweet

Wheech · 07/04/2025 20:02

The M&S pistachio and almond cookies taste good but also have the most AMAZING texture. The white chocolate and lemon cookies in their same range are also wonderful.

Honorary mention to Farmfoods who are currently selling Tim Tams for £1.99 a pack. Very like a Penguin but with a better crunch.
