Anyone up - is this urgent?

Woke up about half an hour ago coughing/gasping - heartburn, but I could taste blood in my mouth. Coughing up stuff that had faint amounts of blood in it.

Went from heartburn to vomiting very quickly - vomit was just normal foodstuffs, but every time I coughed afterwards there was tiny streaks of blood. Almost like you’d see after brushing your teeth.

Can the heartburn have caused a bit of irritation and a bit of bleeding?

I’m on mounjaro (GP recommended, through a proper chemist) - my BMI was 47, since starting I’ve lost a fair bit (about 2 stone) but I’ve just increased the dose this morning.

I’ve done a 111 online thing but a bit worried they’re going to try to send me to A&E which feels unnecessary - I feel otherwise relatively fine, I’ve swigged a bit of pepto bismol and also taken an omeprazole tablet and a sip of water. The horrible taste has gone after throwing up.

If they send go to A&E on that it’s because it’s flagged as a risk.

It’s most likely to be irritation, but might be something nastier and that is potentially properly nasty so if you hit the risk flags it’s worth the A&E hassle.

I agree go to A&E if it's recommended.

I hope you feel better soon.

I get this at times - for instance I can’t drink Koppaberg cider because I will have this reaction at night and be woken up to vomit with the most horrendous acid and gross taste.

A and E.
Could be something more serious like a pulmonary thromboembolus.

The increased dose can make you unwell, and being sick can sometimes cause little cuts from straining to be sick. So it’s perfectly plausable it’s ’normal’.
But you’ll only really know if you get checked. And you only get one chance with your health, so I’d probably call 111 and follow their advice.

Nurse rang back from 111 and said it’s most likely the jab causing irritation somewhere, said if it gets much worse to call them back as might need to be seen. I’ve managed a yoghurt and protein shake this morning but can’t eat anything else. Hopefully it settles.

I would go to A&E. Coughing up blood is always a bad sign.
