If you could, what would you name your pub?

Not an AIBU, just a little lighthearted thread. Was reading my latest book and this question popped into my head, although I'm stumped trying to conjure up a quirky name. So whilst i think of mine...

If you could name a pub, whether in real life or fictional, what would you name it?

We quite liked The Drunken Duck….but I overruled the children 😀

The Cockwell Inn

“The Libertine Sisters”.

I'd probably name it after a fictional one. Maybe 'The Eolian' or 'The Waystone Inn' from my favourite book series. Or maybe one of the Harry Potter ones.

Would it have a washing machine in it though?

The Two Pheasants after the pub in the Miss Read books.

Plus in my experience, most pubs with Pheasant in their name have tended to be lovely.

Other than that, The Suspiciously Sticky Carpet.

Based on the real Three Pigeons at Woodgreen in Oxfordshire.

The Goat and Compasses after the pub in Stevenson's "The Black Arrow". Always liked the name.

I’ve always wanted The Centipedes and Millipedes to make pub cricket players happy. We’ll have to have our pubs opposite each other! 😀
