Film / screen soundtrack recommendations

Mumsnet has helped me put together some brilliant, varied playlists in the past and helped me find songs/ artists I’ve not heard of or had forgotten about. Really enjoying soundtrack pieces like Tennessee by Hans Zimmer, Theme from Schindler’s list, The Mission, Amelie - I know there are so, so many but please hit me with your favourites - I’m loving classical at the minute but open to anything!

Thank you so much for all these! I’m a bit rubbish at remembering tracks/ films, some of them seem so obvious when written down for me (Though I’ve not actually seen Amadeus mycatistheheadchef, I think I need to now). Boblobla, your mistake earlier just made me feel a bit better for getting in a muddle about some of the composers too - I’m only just starting to really listen to soundtracks in their own right despite always being captivated by them when watching a film.

I love the soundtracks to Local Hero and Restless Natives.

The soundtrack to Witness (Maurice Jarre) is gorgeous.

We Live In Time soundtrack - it’s just lovely. Though I am a massive Bryce Dessner fan - he’s scored The Revenant, Cyrano and more too.
