Eldest is 3 had chicken pox 2.5 weeks ago. Was spotty but not too rundown and has some scars

1yo youngest got some blisters on Saturday and we've called it chicken pox and are quarantining her as guided etc but she doesn't have many and there already scabbing over a bit. She has been very upset and a bit rundown with them though only wants mummy etc.

Is this normal she just has mild spots? Most kids are covered so just wondering have we assumed wrong or is it (spots we're blisters and 2 weeks after big bro had them) a mild case

Timeliness probably fits.
My brother caught chicken pox , 2 weeks later me and older sister, 5 days later little sister.
Being 'out of sorts ' can definitely be a symptom. My son caught them when he was about 5, he had less than 24 spots from head to foot, my niece who caught them from him was covered!

My son's were worse on his hairline. He had a massive one right above his forehead which would not dry up. Guidelines fir school was they could return when blisters dry up and he felt well. Well.....this one bloody spot, very much on show, just wept and he was off school for 2 full weeks!!

Hope everyone is doing OK!

Yes, sometimes it’s like this. Are you or have you recently stopped breastfeeding? If so, she may have some lingering immunity from you.

Sometimes they just have a mild case. I actually got them multiple times as a child (confirmed by paediatrics). I remember it. And then finally I really got them the last time!
