I've been reminded why I was slim in the 90s

Went out last night and danced for 5 hours straight - 25,000 steps and 1000s of calories burnt.

I need to start doing this more often!

I’m impressed you can still do it!

I have two mates who have developed a passion for big time dancing lately and it’s doing them a power of good, so I think you’re definitely onto something

Well yes that, plus the drugs which enabled all night dancing + supressed the appetite 🤣

An average person would burn 1200-1600 calories from 25,000 steps, so probably not as many as you would think. Plus alcohol is a lot of calories.

Many people are slim in youth due to metabolism, which can slow down when ‘second puberty’ kicks in.

Yeah, that was a definite extra benefit 😄

These days, as a 48 year old mother of two, the drugs are definitely in the past!

I know what you mean op.

I used to walk for miles every day, work a manual job in catering on my feet all the time, dance into the night drinking water and soft drinks and then do it all again the next day!

Ate like a horse and stayed slim. Then I got an office job and had two kids and BOOM 6 stone weight gain 😂

It's also (boring answer I know) loss of muscle mass. We lose like 0.5% a year. Muscle mass is more metabolically active than fat.
