Question for people who don't eat sugar anymore

So I am trying to go sugar free for better health and balancing my hormones. I have not touched sugar or sweetners in 2 weeks now and I have massive sweet tooth. My question is for people who used to eat sweet things and now they have gone completely sugar free. Do you still eat natural sugar like dates and honey? and what about sweetners? and how going sugar free has changed your health?

After about 3 weeks your taste buds start to change.
I had some 70% chocolate the other day as there wasn't any 90% and it was so sweet.

I started this last summer and went cold turkey. I also cut out dates and honey because after eating no sugar at all they gave me an immediate sugar rush. I found it difficult for a week or so with massive cravings but the app I Am Sober, recommended on here, really helped - I love a good streak! After a couple of months, I lost weight without meaning to but most importantly I immediately and massively reduced bloating. Much less farting in the morning!
I am no longer entirely sugar-free but have done it long enough to reduce my sugar cravings and to know that I won't fall off the bandwagon if I have a piece of cake once in a while. Also important- add savoury things to your diet to compensate and to add interest, taste and texture. And drink water when cravings appear. Good luck!

I haven’t had added sugar or refined flour since 1995.

Hard to say how I feel compared to how I would feel, but I still often feel grateful and relieved not to have to engage with it and attempt portion control which I found impossible.

I do eat fruit and have artificial sweetener in things like diet coke but don’t add sweeteners to food. I have tried things like agave or the low GI sweeteners but don’t use them. As I’ve gone though menopause I have also started to avoid dried fruit except in very small quantities as I think my system had got more sensitive.

Its amazing how sweet things like tomatoes
and sugar snap peas taste!
