Mid sleeper/ IKEA Kura bed

Hi I was just wondering if anyone had a Kura IKEA bed or similar mid sleeper for their child? We're considering it for almost 4 year old DD.
If you do what age you think they'll use it up to? And what do they use the space underneath the bed for?
I had thought my DD would use it as a play house but when I saw the measurements I realised it won't be tall enough for her to stand up in and it's too low for her toy kitchen to fit. But maybe it would still be good for a den/ reading nook/ sleep overs? Just wanting to make the best use of space/budget.

We had a mid sleeper for my son that we bought from John Lewis. It was very strong, held up to 100kg (I don't the specs of the Ikea one) and it was excellent quality. We just got rid of it because we turned the room into an office and my son is 14. It was a great bed! Under the bed there was a bookcase where he also kept some toys. It was a den/play area/sleepover area with an inflatable mattress.

Sorry posted too soon, but yes it really worked well for us and I'd recommend for small spaces

We've got the Ikea Kura and love it! DD is a tall 6 year old and has underneath as a den, a small bookshelf and cushions. Hoping she will use it for a long time to come.

We had them - my tall DD changed when she was 11 but happy until then.

My 5ft 5 ds still uses his 🙂 we have some kallax units underneath and a beanbag for him to sit and read / relax

My DS11 is showing no signs of outgrowing his. We have the underneath set up as a spare bunk for sleepovers.

Thanks for the replies, that's very useful information. We went to IKEA yesterday to have another look and DD was very taken with the idea so I think we're going to go for it!

Kura is a fab bed, don't forget it can be tipped over as a srandard low single bed with the frame above it which you can use as a canopy with fabric.

Outs had a playmobil land underneath it then a cheap mattress and bean bags / blankets for a squishy den - look at people's kura hacks where a curtain pole is added to make it a really snuggly secret den

Brilliant beds and really sturdy.

DD still using hers at 13 (and 5'6", though the mattress is over 2m so height isn't really a issue) she has a mattress in the bottom, fairy lights and lots of pillows / cushions. She uses it as a den / place to chill, play on her phone, read, etc. or sometimes she'll have her younger sister (or a friend) in it to sleep over. It has been a good investment!
