Massive issues with HT at primary school, how to proceed? (SCOTLAND)

Now I don't speak to many people, so this problem is probably a lot bigger than I think.

HT at primary school (scotland) has banned me from having meetings with them (a few years ago now) and I thought it was just me. I speak to the deputy if needed and all is fine.

Over the last 2 months I've spoken to no less than 8 parents, all been banned from meeting with HT too, I was banned because I escalated a complaint where HT said an incident (at school with a completely unrelated child) was a parenting issue and not a school issue. Other parents have been banned as their children were shown porn in school, HT denied it, another was SAd, head denied it, another came in in their work uniform - HT said the parent was trying to be intimidating.

Many parents have moved their dc due to HT.

Many complaints to the council have been denied, hidden or nothing has happened. Turns out HT is best mates with the person in charge of investigating these things.

Unfortunately a lot of us are stuck as this is the only school with a decent provision for ND children in the area, and the rest of the staff are amazing.

Staff have left due to HT, and been vocal about it too.

Is there anywhere, over and above the council, where I can report all this and it will be investigated? As in they will ask the parents their opinions and experiences.

I'm actually gobsmacked at the extent of the crapness of the HT and sweeping everything under the rug.

education Scotland has a concerns form - maybe start there?

Search for your Director of Education on Gov.Scot

Contact them directly.

Depending on your local authority there may be a Quality Improvement Officer who will investigate concerns, you can also go the Head of Education in your local authority. In both cases I’d mention your concern that previous complaints haven’t been dealt with impartially. If you’re unhappy with the outcome of the local authority investigation you can go to the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman.

I’ve never heard of a HT refusing to meet a parent, so on that grounds alone I’d complain.

This sounds exactly like the school I pulled my kids out off.

I’ve been a teacher at different schools where minor things have happened and unhappy parents (and on one occasion a student) have exaggerated the problem and either threatened or actually contacted OFSTED ! Needless to say OFSTED turned up because parent raised the issue as safeguarding issue. Thankfully, all was good and inspection went much better than if we were scheduled one.

If Porn was shown to students then this is serious safeguarding issue. If it were my child I’d flip out, contact police, OFSTED, and any other body that can do something!
its preposterous how you can be banned from seeing HT! Abuse of power grates on my nerves!

OFSTED doesn’t operate in Scotland, it’s Education Scotland.
