Headphones that are also earplugs, to sleep in. Do these exist?

Like, proper earplugs that will block out snoring, but that also let me listen to an audiobook. And that I can sleep in all night.

Are these a thing?

Yes. You can get motorcycle earplugs that are moulded to your own ear with the ability to have music playing added.

Obviously, they're designed to reduce wind noise in a crash helmet, but they should do for your purposes too as they are custom made for you.

Something similar probably exists for musicians too, look for "in ear monitors". They will probably better, but more expensive.

You can also get bluetooth sleep headbands which may be more comfortable to sleep in.

Thanks, I'm guessing those don't block out noise?

I use the Bluetooth head band and wax ear plugs if I really need to block out noise, if you position the little speakers in the headband just in front of your ear they act like bone conduction headphones when sleeping on your side. I have picked the Bluetooth headband bands cheaply on Vinted x

What I do is use good sound-blocking earplugs (my favourite type is the 3M yellow foam one) and then use Shokz bone-conduction headphones for my audiobook - these are designed to conduct the sound through your cheekbones so your ear canals being blocked doesn't affect them. Overnight I wear them like an Alice Band rather than how they are designed to be worn (which is behind the neck and looping over the ears) as that's more comfortable for sleeping.

I’m evangelical about Bluetooth sleep masks. They’ve changed my life.

Offtobuttonmoontovisitmrspoon · 25/03/2025 08:28

@LunaNorth any in particular that you recommend?

I'm another one who uses easy plugs and a bluetooth sleep headband. Works really well.

AltitudeCheck · 25/03/2025 08:33

I bought a headband/ eye mask with Bluetooth speakers and it's fantastic, I get to sleep faster and sleep much better. I don't know that it blocks snoring fully, but it certainly allows me to sleep where as before I was struggling.

FriendlyGreenAlien · 25/03/2025 08:39

I have been using sleepband type products for about two years and appreciate the podcast/background noise but they don’t drown out the snoring and can be very hot in the summer.

interesting to see good feedback about the ozlobuds. Have you had them long? I’d be worried about spending that much money and then failing in a few months.

EAR plugs even

ExtraDecluttering · 25/03/2025 13:59

I use a bluetooth headband for listening but they don't block out snoring and it is quite tricky to get the positioning right so it doesn't slip down onto my eyelids - I know some people use them as eyemasks too but I can't do that, it would be claustrophobic and I hate waking in darkness. I must take mine off in my sleep because I find it on the floor every single morning. I imagine they are too hot in summer too (only had mine a few months). Oh and they mess up my hair, I wear it under my hair like an alice band otherwise it slips when I move but it puts a kink in my hair. So overall not great.

Oceangrey · 25/03/2025 15:12

Yes, I think I would take a headband off in my sleep. The Ozlo ones sound good to me.
