Abroad or UK holiday - 5 month old

Just that. We really can’t decide and we have 4 nights. I feel like it would be nice to take her on a plane at this age, she is EBF and won’t quite be weaning. Equally, I am veggie and finding better food than chips and salad in european inclusive type settings can be a source of stress anyway never mind with baby in tow who is depending on my milk supply.
It would be cheaper to book a really luxurious mini break in the UK and takes the food worry away. We also have a NT membership I would have plenty to do. I think practically we would enjoy it more (DH and I) but I would feel a bit sad about not taking her abroad as a baby, and nothing is quite as relaxing or exciting holiday wise as going to the airport knowing you’re going somewhere lovely and sunny!

WWYD?

At that age, I would prefer a staycation.

A trip abroad with DD at that age was more hassle than it was worth it. We did it because all our family is in Germany and it was easier (we though) visiting them.

Our main problem was that DD wasn't a good sleeper, she was up at least once during the night and night was over between 5.30 and 6am. She didn't sleep in a pram in the evening either, she needed her bed or she was cranky.

I was so glad being back at home. So we did a s/c holiday next, small cottage, bed for her to sleep in, large lounge and patio for us to relax in the evening. I could feed her and we had breakfast and napped (all of us) when we needed it. We did take away/pub lunch so no cooking required.

So much more relaxing.

Your 5 month old is not going to remember going abroad. Save yourself a lot of hassle and stay in the UK.
