Osteoarthritis PIP Form Help

I've got osteo in my knee and randomly throughout the year every winter and every spring I will get a flare, sometimes in the middle of the year seemingly for no reason and I will not be able to weight bare, I crawl up the stairs in my home and can't carry my child... I don't know how to answer the PIP form when it asks if I can walk a certain distance because for most of the year I can but sometimes I really can't. I also cannot drive when I'm in a pain flare. I also have scoliosis, 22 degree lumbar curve, thoracic compression and a 10 degree cervical curve which cause random intermittent pain which does effect my mobility.

how would you approach this?

If it's only a few times a year you probably won't qualify (especially when the new PIP rules are applied). PIP is not based on diagnoses but on how your daily life is impacted on a daily basis, and safely, repeatedly etc. I can't remember the exact guidance notes off the top of my head, but roughly 4/7 days you need to be UNable to do stuff. If your pain incapacitates you significantly on a daily basis then put that' but make sure you have evidence to back it up.
(My DS2 has disabilities and I've been doing his forms since he was a child so very familiar with them!) You will need to prove that your scoliosis has a daily, not occasional impact.
Sorry if that sounds negative, but better to be realistic. I have an episodic condtion (and horrible osteoarthtitis and disc degeneration) that makes me ataxic , unable to drive, and sometimes completely unable to walk ( had a blue badge for a few years when it was bad for a long time) and still couldn't get PIP, and I'm pretty profficient at the forms thanks to DS2!

No problems, thank you, I have CPTSD and scoliosis also also which causes a whole host of other issues so I'll chat with my GP about the approach
