Coeliac friendly restaurant in London

why Is this so hard?? I am looking for somewhere for a celebration lunch for about 20 people, inc coeliac and vegans. Thought I’d found the perfect place - Niche - but they only take bookings for 6…

Any suggestions? Must have measures to prevent cross contamination (ordinary gluten free isn’t sufficient)

thanks!

Book 4 tables

cestlavielife · 20/03/2025 21:39

every dish is entirely gluten and dairy-free.

Indigo at One Aldwych?

Indigo at One Aldwych.

LunaNorth · 20/03/2025 21:45

Indigo is excellent.

SatsumaCat · 20/03/2025 21:52

If you're looking for something cheaper than Indigo I'd suggest looking at Paladar, Carluccio's, Cote Brasserie or Bill's. Not sure how good they are for vegan options.

ElbowsUpRising · 20/03/2025 21:53

Wahaca

LasVegass · 20/03/2025 21:58

There’s a Chinese GF one in Surbiton. Not high end by any means but nice enough and easy to get to by train.

These are all coeliac uk accredited. Except Paladar which is 100% gf.

Op has specifically mentioned cross contamination - Carluccios, Bills and Cote are no good for this and cannot guarantee anything. My daughter was very poorly after eating at Bill’s.

Op I would also recommend Indigo but it is expensive.

Wahaca

Again, there is risk of cross contamination as per the op!

I haven't been yet but have heard very good things about Cotto, the owner is coeliac and you'd all be very well looked after.

I’d forgotten about Cotto. It’s homely but has very good food.

Only a 100% gf restaurant can guarantee no mistakes, but the ones I've listed are all accredited to have procedures in place for cross contamination and lots of coeliacs eat at them.

Actually the OP said "Must have measures to prevent cross contamination"

Wahaca do have measures to prevent cross contamination. I did not say there was no risk of cross contamination and that was not what the OP asked for. I have always been happy with the measures that they take and dd who is super sensitive has always been fine. But yes, always a small risk as there is gluten in the kitchen (same as at home for us). They seem very savvy about it though. I find the flags in the food very reassuring! :)

MidnightPatrol · 21/03/2025 15:16

Mildred’s?

finallysomesunshine · 21/03/2025 22:38

I think Indigo is out of our price range. I will look at Cotto!

dows anyone know if Caravan is careful enough? I guess I should ring them to see.

the other complication is disabled access, and that it should be somewhere deaf-friendly…
