Yes because my grandmother loved there.

Yes, all the time when I was little. My grandparents lived in the same house for nearly 50 years.

My dad grew up where the Etihad is now, and yes I have been there too.

My parents both had quite itinerant upbringings (armed forces). I haven’t been to either of the countries in which they were born; I’ve visited one of the overseas places my mum spent several years as a child and saw her old house and school, and have visited her boarding school here in the U.K. I’ve been to a couple of the places where my dad lived as a child but not his boarding school.

Yes. We visited my grandparents every Christmas (the house my dad grew up in). Its about 3 hours from where I grew up. Very upper middle class area. My parents couldn't afford to raise a family there. I always loved visiting. Felt very posh! Surrey if anyone was wondering. I always wondered what my life would be like if I was raised there. So close to London. My aunt, uncle and cousins did stay in the area and they all work in London.

Went to visit my Mums family on Tyneside several times growing up. The actual house she grew up in was long gone, but some of her family still lived locally so could get some idea of what life was like for her growing up. My father's family were from eastern Europe and had moved a couple of times when he was growing up following work. But we did manage to visit my grandparents a couple of times during the comunist era, and there were many places that had strong associations for him. I know the experience of such a rural life left a lasting impression on a me as a London child.
