What a truly decent human being he is.

I couldn't get iPlayer to work on our TV so DS, DH and I listened to the lecture on my phone (thankfully I have a good Bluetooth speaker!). It felt like pre-TV times when families would gather round the wireless in the evening.

Gareth's a fantastic speaker: a good story-teller, passionate and humble. What a great role model for our boys. The themes he discussed hit home and have given me food for thought, particularly coming after watching Adolescence at the weekend. Hopefully DS took it on board too. He's 15 and tends to mull things over for a few days before having a chat about them.

I honestly think he used the word beautiful as an all encompassing amazing, talented, impressive, bright etc etc. But hey, if that's all you took from his lecture, OK. We call our family's girls beautiful, and it has little to do with their looks and everything to do with them being absolutely amazing human beings through and through. And we use the same term for the boys.
