Battle Hymn of the Republic (Mine eyes have seen the glory)

I can't hear this without tearing up, especially as it's part of American Trilogy by Elvis Presley. It was my late dad's favourite and we had it at his funeral 20+ years ago. Gets me every time.

And the ultimate singalong = Guide Me O Thou Great Redeemer

Ideally sung by a Welsh male voice choir.

There are some great hymn tunes. I remember after Margaret Thatcher's funeral, when some of the old favourites had been sung, one of the attendees said he thought it was a great shame that when his generation had gone, these old tunes would be forgotten.

I know them because I'm old enough to have sung them every day in school assembly.

And ‘I’m in my way’.

i genuinely think if the independence side in the referendum had used that as their rallying song they’d have won.

Joe Dolan - Irishman? A name I haven't heard in years.

Yes. Ray Moore used to play it early in a morning. Oh, so many years ago. I had it on a tape but it got all wobbly. I might still have it on a CD compilation - must look.
