I can't remember who I pretended to be (although I must have done so) but I had 2 best friends who were boys in primary. Both loved Rick Astley and they'd happily take it in turns to be Rick. Then they got into Bros though, after which they spent more time arguing about who got to be Matt (or was it Luke who was more popular? I can't remember now) than pretending to be whichever brother they wanted to be...

Nadia Comaneci. I was into gymnastics!

wastingtimeonhere · 18/03/2025 21:13

oh yes as someone else said 'Famous Five' I was George.
Robin Hood and his Merry men, I was Robin.

Not celebrity, but soldiers and cowboys and Indians featured too.

Baby Spice, I wanted to be Posh Spice but my friend had a shiny black bob 🙁.

Confusedformer · 18/03/2025 21:26

There's somebody at the door 😂

Remote Scottish island. No telly, so blissfully unaware.

We played sevens - ball against the wall game, Chinese elastic and statue tag... no pretending to be anyone.

@BeyondMyWitsLove this. Just out of interest do you still live somewhere remote or did you move away to the big city?

DontWantNoScrub · 18/03/2025 21:32

Me and my friend were 'Pepsi and Shirley' 😂

VioletCharlotte · 18/03/2025 21:40

Princess Leah!

CaptainCallisto · 18/03/2025 21:41

Usually the power rangers. There would be an argument almost every day over who got to be the pink ranger!

BrownPapery · 18/03/2025 21:43

Milton (the horse rather than the poet).

Farah Fawcett Majors 🙈 Charlie's Angels was the game of choice. Occasionally I was cast as Bosley 😂

Me too…Charlie’s Angels was our ‘game of choice’ back in the 70s playground. I didn’t fare quite so badly as you, but I was always cast as Sabrina, who ‘wasn’t the pretty one’ (apparently 😳). Desperately wanted to be Kelly 🤣

Pensionableperil · 18/03/2025 21:55

Sometimes I’d pretend to be Mrs Barry McGuigan. I have no explanation for this but it happened a lot.

ChuffyChuffnell · 18/03/2025 21:57

Kelly Garrett from Charlie's Angels.

I still want to be Jaclyn Smith.

TaranFollt · 18/03/2025 22:00

I remember prancing around the playground as the cast from Fame. And yes, I wore leg warmers.

Power rangers here. The 90s one. I was always the pink one.

Also gladiators and I was always jet. My friend was lightening. We'd stand on a thin wall and knock lumps out of each other with sticks playing duel I think it was. The one where they tried to get them off a platform with giant cotton buds.

They always said don't try this at home. It was more like a dare for us to go out and immediately do it.
