What do you cook?

Looking for ideas! No chilli hot food and not too meaty, please!

Yep. Although I suspect it depends on which Italian you speak to.

The original is from the end of WWII when the Americans were in Rome and had quantities of bacon, eggs and milk.

Casserole for main course. Starter melon. Trifle for pudding. Or bought in brownies/sticky toffee pudding with ice cream

Thanks everyone. Friend has just left, she was an ex colleague passing through so yeah it took me by surprise, too! Great evening. I bought some crostini type nibble things & antipasti from local deli then did butternut squash lasagne with a huge mixed salad & focaccia (also deli bought). Lemon posset to finish! You all had great ideas.

What you did was was very impressive and I wouldn’t be able to pull that off. Good on you and fast thinking. I would have panicked

Roast chicken always a winner, lasagne, personal fave for me would be risotto.
