What are you getting your Mum for Mother’s Day?

I’m struggling with ideas for mine. She’s in her early 60s, loves travelling and socialising.

I bought her a new luggage tag (her last one broke) and packing cubes for Christmas. For her birthday, I got her her favourite moisturiser and a perfume set (came with a travel size)

Would love to hear your suggestions please!

How about a lovely wrap or scalf for her travels? light ,easy to pack for the evenings?

Mine is getting a DVD of a film she mentioned in passing, some flowering bulbs for the garden and some face cream (I recently started using it and think she’ll like it as much as I do).

I'm in my early (well, mid, if I'm honest) 60's. I've asked my kids for a drill because I'm stick of having to borrow one to put up shelves and fix stuff.
But I realise that this might not be every mum's dream... what about some really nice posh bedding? I do love a nicely made up bed (when I've finished putting those bloody shelves up).

Cbd bath bombs, a potted hydrangea for the table, and gastro pub lunch!

Flowers and a card from us

I'm giving mine (age 84) a jigsaw and if my DDs gave me (age 62) a jigsaw I would be happy. I also like spa vouchers, flowers, fizz, candles/reed diffusers and books. I would not want a scarf.

Silk pyjamas?

Some flowers. Tell me to bore off but I find the over commercialisation of all these ‘days’ ridiculous. I find it difficult enough thinking of what to buy my elderly mother without adding extra days to buy for.

I’ve told my children I don’t want them buying me anything especially over priced flowers, I would rather a spontaneous bunch at random time during the year.

Everyone moans about CoL crisis but imo if you can afford to buy gifts for these events you aren’t hard up (I know you didn’t mention that OP !)

I'm going to give her a phone call. Neither of us agree with the commercialisation of mothers day, she already has everything she needs, she has more money than me, lives abroad, and is also currently on holiday!!!

Thank you for your suggestions. I just found out that Pet Shop Boys are touring and she would love to see them! Tickets are around £80 each mind!

We saw Elton John a couple of years ago and Culture Club before that, so I know she’ll love this concert too!

My family either get whatever they ask for or cold hard cash (none of us are fans of pointless spending).
This year my mother wants the cold hard cash from me and my brother so she can go on a garden centre spree!
