Did anyone else never outgrow the sleepy ‘hump’?

Please tell me I’m not the only one 😂
I’m not sure if it’s restless leg syndrome but it’s more like restless pelvis 😅

I can only really settle and fall asleep giving the mattress a hump 😂 it’s must be a comfort thing because my kids went through a phase quite young of being mattress humpers to self soothe/sleep.. but I’m a nearly 30 year old woman and I still impulsively do it and can’t sleep without it 😩

Please tell me there’s are others?! 😂😂

I know someone who "rocks" themselves to sleep. And it runs in the family (child, parent and grandparent do it). From what I understand it's common in children and only sometimes runs into adulthood but if it doesn't bother you don't worry. www.sleepfoundation.org/sleep-related-rhythmic-movement-disorder

I’m not sure what you mean? Do you mean you have to climax to sleep?

User415373 · 12/03/2025 06:03

It's very normal in children so there must be plenty of adults that still do it! I definitely remember doing it, my sister too. I think it's just that it's using the biggest muscles and it's like getting energy out? Just like rocking.

No not at all, it’s not sexual in any way.. just comforting somehow.

That’s does make sense, I also seem to shrug my shoulders at same time too.. poor DH 😂

Yes I do it sometimes, not always. It's very soothing.
