Euromillions - £120m too much?

So I’ve bought a ticket and will take every problem that comes with winning but I do think this is too much? Managing it would be a full time job! Would be less relaxing on a sun lounger and more meetings with lawyers and accountants about the performance of your family office I would have thought.

I think a cap of say £40m is more than enough to be able to do anything you might reasonably want. Then there could be 3 winners tonight.

That said the idea of private jets and never having to queue at an airport again sounds wonderful! 🤞🏼

I’ve always said If I’d win a million, even 500k I’d be happy… I wouldn’t even know what to do if I won that much money. Where to start etc. of course I’m also not going to complain….
id defo buy a house, not a. Super flashy one, there’s a house down our road that’s recently been done up, it’s 5 bed 3 bath, not mansion like but very nice. 600k.. that’ll do me. I’d start a non profit. I’d give some away to family. I’d probs buy a holiday home or villa in Orlando and New York and rent it out whilst we are not using it. That would be essentially our money to use over there. I’d probs buy a caravan in Skegness and Great Yarmouth as they are our fave spots to visit here.
I’d also start a dessert business, not one close to us so I know it would make some people super happy, create some jobs around out little town. Even with all that I’d still have a huge chunk which I guess would be pulling in interest so I’d probs be set for life.
I wouldn’t quit my job though. I only work 16-20 hours a week as I care for DS, so I’ll continue to do so and donate my earnings to charity. Everyone says are you crazy whenever I say this, but I need to to keep my mind focused.

I've never bought lottery tickets, but would consider it if there was more chance of winning lower amounts.

Nah I'm going to enjoy spending it ...
Large chunk into a fund for divvying up to charity...
Nice big house. Staff. Someone to cook my dinner and do the dishes.

We've got one of these in our town. I've set up a DD for £20 a month and that will be adding 10% to their yearly income. They do almost everything entirely through volunteers and it's insane to me that they manage on a couple of grand a year.

Amazing. I wish more people would give even tiny amounts to small charities, it is so appreciated

I have a list for the £100m+ jackpots of who gets what, I keep 30% for myself the rest family and friends gets a big chunk and some pays the mortgages off for my work colleagues plus some spending money. I’d also heavily invest in the small town I love to visit, fund the food bank, pay the rent and rates for the small shops I love who are struggling right now.

I would absolutely love to treat strangers too, shhhh here’s £1000 for you and the kids, to those in front of me in the Home bargains queue.

I've always thought this. Imagine 120 people winning 1 mill or even 240 people winning half a mill , life changing for SO many people

FondantFancyFan · 12/03/2025 19:09

I'd buy houses for my younger relatives & colleagues who have zero chance of buying their own home.
