Anyone who suffered with bad PGP throughout pregnancy did it disappear after birth or are you still suffering? I suffered really badly this time round and could hardly walk the last few months. I’m 6 days post partum and still in so much pain with it and struggling with basic things even just walking. I heard a lot of people say it disappears after birth so was really holding out that hope but frustratingly it hasn’t. Just wondering if anyone have been through this and how long did it last for you/any tips? I just want to be able to be active again for my toddler and get back to being able to do normal day to day things without a struggle.

Hi; sorry to hear this. Mine took about 10 days really to subside. I too had been looking forward to instant relief but it took a good few days for everything to shift back to a comfortable position. I did have a course of
physio too a few weeks later to really help get back on track.

Sorry to hear you are in pain but congratulations on your little one.

So I didn't suffer badly during pregnancy but did suffer after birth. It was excruciating and at one point it was agony just getting up. It also ached all night long and I couldn't even turn over in bed. I also have a toddler which made it so much more difficult so really feel for you! It makes you feel really down when you are always in pain.
I was told that all ligaments loosen for delivery and it can take a few months to get better. Mine is now a thousand times better after 9 weeks pp.
some thing I did were: Rest, made sure I was very supported breastfeeding, moved the next to me further away from the bed so that I could straighten up before putting baby down, light and supported shoes (trainers no boots), I went to the Gp who referred me to a physio but it was hard for them to determine what to focus on as I couldn't really pinpoint the pain but they gave me some exercises- btw there are also specific postpartum physios you can be referred to but the one I saw wasn't a postpartum specialist. I also went to see an osteopath who managed to determine where the pain was originating from and did lots of massage and stretches, it did help.
Just remember it will get better!

I had pgp for much longer than expected after ds was born. I suggest seeing if your maternity hospital has a physio who can see you. (Failing that, if you can find one who specialises in women's health.) They will be able to give you suggestions for how to manage day to day and longer term with exercises to strengthen your core and glutes appropriately as you heal.
