Good Morning Everyone! What are you all up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot, after coming down with the kittens for their breakfast. No-one else is up yet, and probably won't be for a while, so I'm enjoying the peace.

I have a mental list of things I'd like to get done today...will see how far I get!

I want to list some things on Vinted, cut some things for work, finish dd1's bows for our Gracie Abrams gig on Thursday, wash my make up brushes, and wash towels. We did say we'd have an hour or two making a few more bracelets to trade at Gracie's show too.

Dd1 has homework to finish for Law, and dd2 has part of an exam on Friday so will probably get on with some revision/prep for that.

We're having meatballs for tea this evening, with whatever pasta's in the cupboard, and garlic bread. Followed by nice, early, showers all round, a few hours relaxing doing nothing much, and early nights 💤💤

What about all of you?🙂

Morning @lucysmam and everyone! I’m not a regular, but I’m low on motivation and energy today so hoping writing things down will help!

Going to do some light spring cleaning, a couple of loads of laundry, tidy up a bit of the garden and buy some things we need for the house online. Then wake up the snoozing sighthound to go for a big run.

Just need to get myself off the settee first…

MissMarplesNiece · 09/03/2025 10:49

Morning everyone. I've had a tidy round, folded & put away clean laundry, and cleaned the bathroom so that's all my chores out of the way. For some reason I've got a very rumbly stomach - couldn't possibly be the pancakes with banana and maple syrup I had for breakfast! I'm going to spend the rest of the morning reading. DH is making lunch - 2 types of curry with some Indian snacks. This afternoon I am going to see my sister, back in time to watch the final of the Pottery Throw Down which I've just realised is on at 9pm tonight.

dontforgetme · 09/03/2025 11:56

Good morning @lucysmam and all.

Slow Sunday morning as usual in our house. Washing is on the line and kitchen cleared from last night and breakfast. Going to jump in the shower and hope my Asda shop is nearer to 1pm than 3pm! If it comes earlier then I'll put a gammon in the slow cooker for cheesy gammon and broccoli pasta tonight. If it comes later will be pie and mash.

Dd is drawing, Ds is playing Lego and dp is doing some work. May get out for walk later but Ds seems to be coming down with the lurgy so will see how he goes whilst waiting for Asda.

Tonight will be baths and showers all round and early nights ready for the week ahead.

Good afternoon.

Thought I’d missed this. Have had a productive morning. 2 loads of washing up. Tesco shop done and kitchen cleaned.
I have lots of household chores to catch up on. Especially ironing. I ended up with a migraine yesterday which meant I lost most of the afternoon.

Nothing major planned for today just catch up. Some sewing I need to do.

DH is planning a bbq tea tonight so that will be good.

Pancakeflipper · 09/03/2025 12:27

Good morning (or rather good afternoon). Another not very regular person...

I've had an unexpectedly joyful morning. One of my teen children has SEND and going through a very rough time with their mental health.

This morning they joined me on a walk through the woods up to the farmland to see the lambs.

They asked me to do some languages speaking tests as we walked (they have speaking test exams coming up). They never ask for assistance - this is huge !! And we laughed our heads off at my crap accent and pronounication.

The sun is lovely, right temperature for uphill walks. And for a few hours it was stress-free.

Loving the happy stories on here

Susiesue61 · 09/03/2025 12:38

We were out in town yesterday evening so had a long lie in. Going to go for a walk at the seaside with the rest of the world soon, then DH has offered to take me to Bridget Jones later xx

Isitameproblem · 09/03/2025 12:46

75mins of spinning done, some dishes done, now to do a 30min yoga sesh!

Loveanewusername · 09/03/2025 12:56

So far I have got a wash load done and out on the line , and walked to the coop for some bits for tea and tomorrow packed lunch . (£37 later 🫣) it’s not far but it got a few thousand steps in!

just finished a salad for lunch and watching rubbish on telly . I’m going to tidy my room and put all the clean washing away that I washed and dried yesterday

daughter at work untill 6 ish , hubby at work all day, son on a bike ride so absolutely lovely and peaceful nice day today .

Loveanewusername · 09/03/2025 12:57

Ohhh and just remembered I got a lint bar from the coop so I’ll have that with a cup of tea when the washing is away

LoudPlumDog · 09/03/2025 13:12

Just after 9pm here. Have had a productive day to avoid sad thoughts entering my head. Cleaned entire house, washed clothes, towels and changed beds. Washed mats and cushion covers. Visited a friend for a cuppa. Came home and continued with decluttering and moving things around. Visited my daughter at her resting place. I see one of her friends had visited and left a beautiful handmade card with photos of them together. Broke my heart 💓 Then took dogs to the river and a good run around. Met my granddaughter there. Home and cleaned the bird cage while DH cooked dinner. I did the ironing, had a bath, cleaned the kitchen and set the dishwasher to come on about now. Now in bed scrolling.

PieCorner · 09/03/2025 13:18

Two loads of washing done, the dishwasher is going, bedding changed on all the beds and we're having a chicken dinner later. DC has to do homework in a bit but we've had such a busy week I'm inclined to let them take the day off from reading Biff and Chip.

Taytocrisps · 09/03/2025 13:58

Back from my walk. It was a very pleasant 13 degrees. There wasn't so much as a hint of a breeze (most unusual for Ireland) and the sun was warm on my face. I encountered a pheasant on my way back and managed not to run him/her over.

@LoudPlumDog I'm sorry to hear about your DD. Nice that her friend is thinking about her.

TheChosenTwo · 09/03/2025 14:01

Lying in bed for the second sunny day in a row because I have succumbed to a disgusting lurgy. I did go and sit in the garden for about 10 minutes just to feel the sun on my skin which was blissful but exhausting so I’m back in bed now under my heated blanket and duvet but with the shutters and windows wide open. I can hear dh pottering about in the garden and ds is intermittently helping.
We’ve got roast beef and yorkshires tonight though which is my favourite. Might have a nap and a bath and then eat but that’s about all the exciting plans I have for the day 😂

LeonoraFlorence · 09/03/2025 14:09

It’s a lovely day here. We have come to national trust property and DDs are all running round the park and play area. We are enjoying a coffee at the moment in the sun. We’ve bumped into friends which has been nice, girls are loving playing. Think we will go together for a Sunday lunch at our favourite place later on.

Hedjwitch · 09/03/2025 17:48

Finally got to see DD1s new flat, atl leastfrom the outside as she doesn't get the keys until April 1st. Looks like a nice place. DD is 34 so this is a very very big step for her and long overdue. Am enjoying buying her some bits and pieces and looking forward to this very momentous event.

DilemmaDelilah · 09/03/2025 17:53

Well.... I managed to go to Lidl and to Aldi but I was absolutely exhausted afterwards! I had a lovely sleep this afternoon though. The kind of sleep where you wake up in the same position you fell asleep in.

We are being very lazy this evening and will be eating a ready-made lasagne from Aldi. Not even having salad with it - although I do love salad. Unfortunately my guts don't like salad at all at the moment. I'm still suffering from the home-made coleslaw I had yesterday with my pizza 😭. I should know better but although I love carbs I really crave something fresh. My poor sister is stuck in hospital not being able to eat anything at all at the moment, so I should count my blessings.

I couldn't book my usual swimming session for tomorrow morning, so we don't have anything we have to do all day until I have my lovely massage lady coming tomorrow evening. I'm really looking forward to that.

DilemmaDelilah · 09/03/2025 18:01

I should say - Mr Dilemma avoids most vegetables and fruit if he can so he won't miss salad at all. I make him have some usually.... and I encourage him to have the (usually expensive) things he actively likes, like olives and fresh raspberries, but he won't miss not having salad at all.

Loveanewusername · 09/03/2025 18:23

Well my rooms looking better , but only half the washing is done….. I managed to eat the chocolate though funnily enough lol

I feel so much better this weekend after having a bit of sunshine this last week .

plan for this evening- tea and big wash up . Uniform for tomorrow, everyone shower then clean bathroom.

chill with a film and a brew

ready for another week :-)

CalicoPusscat · 09/03/2025 19:53

Evening all 😳

I'm happy enough here with chocolate fudge cake and cream. There goes my fillings.

Just checked my messages and I have work tomorrow in a town I've never been to before, I was told on Friday it would be this coming week but didn't realise it would be tomorrow. Bit fast. So gorgeous bath tonight, all groomed and ready for getting lost in a new town centre in 12 hours time.

Oh and I went down the shop earlier with a black smudge on my nose (assume from cleaning the hob). Only looks like I've been up a chimney but I should have looked in the mirror first.

DilemmaDelilah · 09/03/2025 21:30

@CalicoPusscat If I have to go somewhere I don't know I always check it out on Streetview first so that I know what I'm looking for, and I try to look at as much of the journey as I can on street view as well. I'm a big over-preparer though.....

CalicoPusscat · 09/03/2025 21:41

@DilemmaDelilah cheers, frantic googling tonight :)
