How’s Your Saturday Evening Shaping Up So Far?

I think I need to make tea fairly soon as I’ve just polished off 4 multi pack bags of Quavers! Veg is prepped already. I’m having a glass or 3 of Freixenet Zero. It’s very quiet as DH is at Pets At Home buying hay & straw for the bunnies & DD16 is lurking in her room, no doubt with her AirPods in. It’s still light outside which is making me very happy. Loving the lengthening days.

Done loads of gardening today and I'm currently sitting drinking tea, nursing my aching back and looking at the ingrained dirt under my fingernails. A long soak in the bath beckons I think.

DH has been at a pub music event all afternoon and is on his way back now. He is supposed to be cooking tonight, so I hope he is still sober enough! It is only ravioli in tomato & basil sauce with a side salad, so not that taxing.

I bought a newspaper this morning which I have yet to read so I might do that later while DH is watching the inevitable football. Bugger all else on telly anyway.

I'm on my second beer, watching Scotland against Wales in the six nations rugby..... happy days 😁

Nipped out to see my friend as it's her birthday so delivered card and present; didn't stay long as she and her partner had not had tea and neither have I yet.
Got back to find people sorting out their tea but nobody wanted the same as me - a Slimming World meat feast pasta, so I'm just doing that now.
Not even doing Slimming World as they only care about tomatoes and alcohol, both of which I detest and are thus completely irrelevant to me, but I must be doing something right this time as not hungry, the food is just boring.
@EineReiseDurchDieZeit I feel you re no chocolate, this is killing me more than giving up the bread and cake!
We'll probably play dominoes and/or scrabble then watch some more episodes of the brilliant Waterloo Road while Rachel Mason is still Headteacher.

I'm on the sofa with the dog. My DCs are in the kitchen making me cupcakes for IWD. They are 9 and 12, both boys, I'm raising 2 feminists 💪. I'm slightly worried about the mess I will face but having a rum and coke and leaving that problem for future me 😂

Lit the fire and had a power hour, refreshing bathrooms, washing etc until living room warmed up.

Watched the rugby with DH and then made DD’s dinner while DH nipped out and picked them up from the yard (they have been with their ponies all day) now both back showered and fed and about to snuggle down with a movie.

DH has just poured me a glass of red and is about to make risotto and then think we might find something to watch.

I’m sitting in bed after having a lovely bath and I’ve just had a lovely 30 minute video conversation with DS and the DGSs, catching up with all their news. DH is watching the rugby or something.
I’ve done something to my neck so I have a hot water bottle and I’ve just realised I didn’t have any tea but cba to get up and get something 🤷🏼‍♀️
It’s been a lovely day, I was out with the dog at 7.30 this morning for 2.5 hours, 5 mile walk, came back and cleaned through the house, four loads of washing out on the line and all dried beautifully.
I’m hoping the weather’s good tomorrow too.

DH is away for the weekend so I'm in sole charge of DS. We went swimming this morning then, out of the blue, his friends Mum asked if he wanted a play date! Which meant I could clean the house, walk the dog and get a bit of work done. He's now on his switch and I really want to watch a new film, but I know I'll end up watching season two of Fleabag because it's my comfort watch.

French doors and the dusk chorus open sounds wonderful-but isn't it rather chilly? It was freezing up here (North) at dusk-been a lovely day though 😊

Just had a shower, watching BGT with a glass or three of wine ( none zero, why bother?) and ordered a takeaway.

I've had the day/evening to myself so I had a lovely dinner, noe binge watching Reacher with a nice glass of red.

Watched Gladiators and had a takeaway. Feels like 1996!

The takeaway was a nice Chinese place that does roasted meats on rice/noodles and bao on the side. Delish.

Fantastic-me and DDog2 sharing heated throw on sofa. Ddog1 has chosen to go outside. Both just had a marrowbone as a weekend treat. I've just started a 'diet' that ChatGPT has helped me create to suit my tastes. Going well and I've enjoyed the egg, cheeses, salted almonds, and nibbles I've had tonight, along with two cups of tea with less milk than I'd like.
Also half watching that Meghan thing on Netflix and finding it strangely relaxing

We’ve had a full on day of cycling today and we are all shattered so we’ve had some lovely asian meals from M&S, a glass of fizz/peach ice tea for the DC and we’re now hunkered down in bed (with the DC) about to watch the latest Mario film on the projector with a box of chocolates I picked up from M&S today.

Everyone else was out for the first part of the evening so I cooked my choice of food with no thought to any one else: aperol spritz and olives followed by griddled salmon, salad and roasted new potatoes, garlicky dill mayonnaise and a glass of white, chocolate ganache pot. Yum 🤤

Then watched The October Man b&w film with John Mills. Now watching Match of the Day while everyone else cooks their own dinner!
