NewName90210 · 07/03/2025 12:43

Hello!

Posting here for traffic! Does anyone know any nice farms for my toddler around an hour from west London? I understand most of them are in Surrey but would love some suggestions.

thank you

Not a Mudchute fan as driving through lots of London traffic! What’s Godstone like?

Bocketts Farm in leatherhead. My kids are 13&11 and still want to go every time we're in the UK!

ItsAWonderfulLifeforMe · 07/03/2025 13:04

Highly recommend Bocketts farm

NetballHoop · 07/03/2025 13:05

Hobbledown (Epsom) or Bocketts (Letherhead)

Godstone is great, lots of different areas to explore and lots of play equipment, including a couple of sandpits. There is a big new soft play too.

They have the usual farm animals and times to go and feed the pigs, hold the animals, listen to a talk.

It's big and you can stay there all day.

Hounslow Urban Farm. I have no idea what it's like btw.

AprilF00L · 07/03/2025 13:12

oh...it gets good reviews

@Strokethefurrywall @ItsAWonderfulLifeforMe this is why I love mumsnet! This is perfect! I shall head there. Pig racing looks fun 😁 thank you.

Hobbledown is brilliant

pearbottomjeans · 07/03/2025 13:25

Been to all of these listed, all good. Hounslow is good but definitely more urban than the others!

Would fancy the most rural one! Which did you prefer best? I’ll be taking a 20m old!

We like Bocketts Farm and Chobham adventure farm. Hounslow urban farm is good, pretty cheap and cheerful. Elm nursery (farm, garden centre, nice cafe) near Woking is another cheap/small farm good for young children. Oh, Odds farm park is good too!

Namechanger385u4p · 07/03/2025 13:53

Another vote for bocketts! The sack slide is great!

Rosecoffeecup · 07/03/2025 13:55

Godstone is brilliant, never had a bad time there

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 07/03/2025 14:13

Godstone is great / mine would spend a whole day there.

Bocketts I have been to less but is also good. Also nearer to West London.

Hobbledown I am less keen on. It always feels less farm like and more adventure playground with a few animals to me.

Ha go to all of these regularly - except Odds farm! Never heard of this! Will have to check it out.

Fishers farm is good too but halfway to the beach so might be too far for you OP!

Agree re Hobbledown being more of a playground than a farm.

If you want a proper farm then Millers Ark farm is the one - they only open to the public at certain times though, and not really any playground elements. A proper farm - great at Xmas and spring!

Of the others I’d choose Bocketts but that’s mainly because it’s an easy drive for us. Fishers farm is probably the most rural one.

Strokethefurrywall · 08/03/2025 03:06

@NewName90210 - I've been taking the kids there since they were little and it's the first thing they want to do whenever we fly back (no "farms" in our country).

The pig racing is always a highlight, they name their pigs with pun names like "Harry Trotter", "Arianna Grunte", and "Luke Skyporker". Makes me laugh like a drain whenever I'm there seeing their little piggy butts run around to get to their dinner at the end.

If you go in March/April you may be in luck to see lambs being born. We saw twin lambs being delivered much to my eldest disgust, but to my delight. I still gross him out with the video of it now.

We'll be back in Uk over summer so will be definitely making a trip there. Despite my two being older, it's still a massive novelty for them to be able to pet/feed sheep...

We loved this too, especially the names for the pigs. Chuckled at Will I Ham 😅

My daughter loved the trampoline pillows too.
