Google pixel or something else?

Looking for a new phone, I've only ever had Motorola but was really disappointed with the last one I had as the camera was awful.

I don't play games but I need good battery power and a really good camera. I like android, definitely don't want an iPhone.

Anyone got a Google pixel 8,do you rate it?

Right, I'm going for a Pixel 8 Pro, I'll report back later in case anyone else is making the same decision.

Thanks everyone 😊

Are the photos really clear? I need a new phone and I was trying to decide between this phone and a Samsung. The thing I dislike is when photos look grainy or when they don’t take well in low light conditions. How does it perform in duller light conditions?

Love mine

Pixel phones have fantastic cameras and are known for it. They are good in low light situations, they have a special setting for that

Thanks for the reply.
Are the photos printable quality?

The photos seem fantastic but my old camera phone was shite so I'm not a reliable judge. So far I'm delighted though and I'll test it this evening in night mode.

Just a word of warning, it's a heavyish phone especially with a cover, I sent a hard cover back this morning as phone and cover were making my arm ache. I have sent for a silicone jelly one so they're will be no extra weight. It's worth it too me as the camera is so good and everything else seems great so far.

I have a question for pixel users, when I swipe down to access internet/ data , the buttons won't stay off on the data button. I switch it off and it goes back on. Any suggestions?

I just tried that on mine and I was able to switch off data while having wifi remain on if I understand what you're describing.

I swiped down, tapped Internet and got two sliders, the top one for data and the other one for WiFi. I was able to slide either one off independently of the other.

Pixel 8 pro and it's fantastic. Can take photos and videos in 4k. This is my 3rd pixel phone.

I think I've sorted it, not sure how ! 😂

I've been taking pics and they are absolutely fantastic, so much better than my last phone!

How does it cope with moving objects? I want a phone to take clear photos of my kids/pets - but they are often on the move and the photos end up blurry with my current phone - I don’t want to make a costly mistake!

Also are the photos grainy in low light?

I've put off upgrading my 6 as I can't imagine needing a phone to work better so will keep it til it gets lost or dies.

The 8 Pro must be fab - it's very clever, mine is too old for the AI stuff.

The 'Tips' app is genuinely useful getting used to it.

Edit: My Pixel 3a is still going strong in my mum's hands! Great phones.

Clear as a bell in low light even when just in normal mode and not night mode. Not grainy at all unlike my other phone.

Took a photo of my cat last night and he was twitchy and was fine. Can't tell you how much I love the camera !

Edited

It's been the easy swap over ever, it just did everything for me. I love the fact it tells me how to do things too, doesn't just presume I know.

There is an unblur photo edit option. Have used it a few times on our dog pics! Photos definitely not grainy
