What to wear in a spa

If a spa stipulates 'a proper swimming costume' to be worn at all times would you take this to include a bikini or just a one piece?

A swimming costume is a one piece & I would assume it would mean without the latest trend with nothing covering your bottom.

I agree. A one piece, appropriate for the spa.

A swimming costume is a one piece swimsuit. And proper indicates no bum cheeks hanging out, strings holding bits of fabric together, etc.

OK thanks all, pretty clear then. I was thinking the same but hoping the opposite as my swimming costume is getting a bit old and saggy.

I'd assume a bikini is fine, as it is a proper swimming costume. It's made to swim in. I would assume they're requesting people not wear e.g. undies or go naked.

I think a bikini that covers a reasonable amount that you can wear to swim in without risk of bits falling out is fine. It is just to prevent wearing of those with 50p sized fabric covering nipples and buttocks fully on show.

A bikini is a type of swimming costume. In my book a bikini is a swimming costume but a swimming costume is not necessarily a bikini. I’ve never heard of a spa (other than a naturist one) that does not allow a bikini.

To be sure why not give them a quick call?
