What seemingly innocuous things make you cringe or even feel nauseous?
Mine are:
*Over ripe bananas. The smell, texture and taste. Oh and the veiney bits.
*Being on the bus on a wet day. The stale steam everywhere and smell of damp clothes 🤢

  • Those waxy farmer jackets. Not so much what they look like, but the smell of them

Hot tubs - bacteria soup
Public swimming pools - all those bums and hairs 🤢
Clothes shop changing rooms with dust and crap all over the floor.
Public transport generally, I saw a guy cough a greeny into his hand once, wipe his hand on his trousers then hold a handle…

I hate seeing children eat in supermarkets 😂 I understand that some grapes might keep them quiet but I just think about all the germs on the trolley and everything they're touching and then putting their fingers in their mouths. Ugh!! Supermarkets in general gross me out and feel so unhygienic.

The meat isle at the supermarket turns my stomach and I'm not even vegetarian. The sweaty carcases sitting in the plastic. Juices leaking from the packaging and the occasional blood stain on the shelves. I don't experience the same sense of revulsion at the sight of raw meat at the butcher although I do struggle with the smell.

I just thought of one more:

When you touch something with food on in the Dishwasher. 🤢

Ugh, and if you have to wash something up without gloves on, and there are all food particles floating about in the water 🤢

Plasters on the side of swimming pools or in the changing rooms.

Other people's hairs on the wet floor of the pool changing rooms 🤢

I'm genuinely shocked that 2 people on this thread have ( albeit anonymously) admitted to eating the contents of their nose. is that really a thing?? Honestly???

OpalOwls · 02/07/2025 19:43

The noise people make after sipping tea or coffee

bbear29 · 02/07/2025 19:52

Someone else's loose wet hair getting on you

what thread are you reading?

Two people on this thread have expressed horror over generic teenagers licking their [teenagers] own snot, but I can't find anyone admitting to doing it themselves

Melted ice cream and milk shakes.

Reminds me of being dosed with raspberry Pripsen as a child.

A bacon bap in Greggs used to be a treat but I recently noticed the staff don't put on gloves, they go from giving out change/using the till to cutting the bap in half. Put me right off
