I'm imagining I can buy something off Amazon?

I'm keen to see what the inside of my top and bottom jaw looks like....

My teeth seem to be deteriorating quite fast and I'd like more of an idea of what this really looks like....

Top teeth, get a small make up mirror, stand in front of bathroom mirror and examine the reflection of the make up mirror.

Can you not see your bottom teeth in a mirror when you open your mouth?

mindutopia · 03/03/2025 21:50

Do you mean the actual inside of your jaw? Like on an x-ray?

HausofHolbein · 03/03/2025 21:51

Those mirror on a stick things that they give you when you go for a checkup.

I seem to remember being given an angled mirror for this purpose by the school dentist back in the 80’s - it’s entirely possible that I dreamt it though!
Off to Google!

If your teeth are 'deteriorating quite fast' (?)...... you really REALLY want to see a dentist. Do not delay - you only have one set of adult teeth.

Is there an emergency dental clinic at a hospital near you?

loveyouradvice · 04/03/2025 10:52

Thanks @HausofHolbein - that looks good

Yes, @Semiramide I am seeing a dentist regularly - and am quite shocked that I haven't been told much of this before. I clearly should have been using a mouthguard for ages but only mentioned last visit, when lots of the damage had already been done. Ditto drinking hot lemon water every morning for years, thinking it was great for my health - without realising it was damaging my teeth.....

Lemon is extremely acidic and will erode the enamel very quickly, especially if you’re brushing after breakfast and not before. If it’s acid erosion you’re looking for, it will be difficult to see with an untrained eye

I know ... so why do dentists NOT tell you? I was doing it for years, and going to the dentist twice a year....
