Of 20+ years? Do you think these are the exception not the norm? Surely, there can’t be a many of them that last until the end of days because each person in the marriage is likely to get fed up and/or meet someone else?

I think those with roommate-type relationships will inevitably end up splitting up. Even if you get along, surely you'd be happier single? DH and I have been together for 30 years and are still very happy together in every way, whereas my parents were more like roommates after 20 years together.

We have been married 45 years and still happy and in love. I would not want to live more like flat mates and, if that were the case, we would split up

Wasnt there already a thread about this earlier today? Have I imagined that?

Very common I imagine due to COL, running two homes and wanting the family to stay together.

I think they're relatively common, but probably not as common as they once were.

I don't think there's anything wrong with this type of marriage if both parties are happy though. I don't consider it 'less than' any other type of marriage.
