Bensons for beds any good?

Just that really. Need to purchase 3 new mattresses, 2 singles 1 king bad back sufferer.
Not memory foam as the one we have is a 2 old and is the most uncomfortable mattress I've ever slept on. To the point I sleep on the sofa most nights. Because it's so uncomfortable and hurts my back.

I've seen a couple online for bensons and obviously I'll go to a store and test them but for customer service or if there's any issues.
Our current one had a supposed guarantee which isn't worth the paper it's written on

We ordered a bed from them about 4 years ago- it's good quality and was definitely good value but they delivered it 5 weeks late!! We had to sleep on a mattress on the floor! It was difficult to get in touch with them and they were pretty useless when I managed. Saying that I do think their prices are really competitive.

There's a whole Facebook group dedicated to how bad they are

Just remember if you order in store distance selling rules don’t apply.

SabbatWheel · 01/03/2025 22:28

We’ve had a mattress from Dreams (Shakespeare Beds make, firm support) for 8 years and it hardly feels worn in. Best mattress we’ve ever had.

Flatbellyfella · 01/03/2025 22:28

My Bensons bed is very comfortable & good quality, had it 10 years now.

IamChipmunk · 01/03/2025 22:31

We used Bensons to but an Igel nanotech mattress in Jan. Tried it in store but then ordered online to get a blue light discount. Happy so far.

I've got a new superking bed from Bensons, it's fab.
I went in the store and then ordered online as there was an online discount.
Also, I got my old bed from Bensons, which is still going strong and is in the spare room.
Never had any delivery issues

My mattress is from Bensons and it’s great. Had it for five years now and it’s as good as new. Cost around £400 at the time.

I got our bed & the kids beds and mattresses from sleepwarehouse.co.uk/, good quality and have lasted us ~8 years and counting

fatgirlswims · 02/03/2025 13:04

There were fab for us

100 night trial on mattresses -10% of purchase price. 90% credit towards a different one

Good for mixed reasons! I brought last mattress from them. Good choice and good opportunity to try some out. However first delivery got cancelled at short notice. Then when it did arrive it was dirty. I got a 20% discount (without trying very hard so this obviously happens a lot) and the marks came off easily. Very happy. Mattress is 3 years old and I’m still happy with it.

I bought two large wardrobes and two large chests of drawers. Then a bed frame. The bed frame was a month late, so parents had to stay in a B&B, so got £30 compensation (pretty bloody mean). Then the furniture was late by two weeks (so another £30). Product is fine customer service rude and offhand. Wouldn't touch them with a bargepole now.
