The Worm that Turned. Ban males from becoming presidents/prime ministers/military leaders.

Ok. Not going to happen but what the fuck is going on. The world is going down the shitter because of numerous male narcissistic arseholes. Females need to stand up and reject this shit.

I watched The Two Ronnies "The worm that turned" a few days ago after first seeing it as a child. Maybe this is the way forward 🙄. Would women constantly feel the need to wage war?

On the whole NO, but Thatcher did (apparently). But maybe if all the other presidents/pms in the world were women, she wouldn't have done?

Iamallowedtodisagreewithyou · 01/03/2025 12:05

I thought Thatcher was actually defending the Falklands?

In any case, men shouldn't be in charge of countries. They actually make good military personel though, all that focus and testosterone I guess.

528htz · 01/03/2025 12:14

I don't know. There are a large number of women who are just as narcissistic and toxic as the worst male leaders. Mean girl types with massive egos and horrible cruel attitudes. Would they make good leaders? Most of us know what kind of managers and colleagues they make.

If you can weed these specimens out then it may be possible, but men are physically stronger than us so we'll realistically never get to be in charge anyway.

@InaGardenSanctuary I absolutely loved that section of the two Ronnie's 🤣🤣

Yes she was defending our territory, bit different.

Don't think I would include Thatcher. But for every woman on your list there are many many many more male dictators.

100% agree

MotherOfCrocodiles · 01/03/2025 13:22

My grandma (war generation) used to say the same. So true.

I don't think the female counter examples really matter, as they are women who rose to power in the context of world politics being dominated by men. In the same way that women can be part of oppressing women in other walks of life- the problem is that the dominant culture is masculine

You wouldn't include Thatcher?!

JoyousEagle · 01/03/2025 13:55

Yes, after the Oval Office spectacle yesterday I just think men are too emotional to be in power. Maybe it's their hormones.

And so so so so many men. Too many to name.

So no. Not the same at all. This line of argument is tiresome.

ErrolTheDragon · 01/03/2025 14:00

You wouldn't include Thatcher?!

She wasn't the aggressor.

It's the aggressors who are the problem, not those willing to defend.

EmmaMaria · 01/03/2025 14:03

There are only so many bad male "leaders" because the world we live in is still overly managed by men. If the reverse were the case, there would be just as many bad women "leaders". It's arrogant and naive to endow women with magical powers of not being aggressive, nasty, violent, or whatever other awful characteristic you care to think of. Women are just as bad - they simply don't get the chance to show it as often.

Disagree. Look at the ratio of men:women involved in violent crime.

Violent crime amongst women is increasing and has been for some time. This is especially true amongst younger women and girls. As I said, the ratios are skewed by the relative position of women in society as well. There is absolutely no evidence that women are intrinsically "peace makers". If you consider the characteristics of women who want to be world leaders (not that many men want to be world leaders either) then they often possess the same "qualities" for ruthlessness - perhaps even more so. Or do you consider it a quirk that so many female leaders also happened to be not very nice people?

Was that the one with men in pinnies and the female troops in mini-skirts with Diana Dors in charge?
