World of Books, selling.

I've got a lot of books I no longer need. Charity shops don't want any books, local library is impractical, so thought I might sell them.

Has anyone used WoB ?

Or any other company that buys books.

What are your comments, please ?

Hey there if you are happy to donate them, take a look and see if there are any specifically second hand book charity shops near you. Or post for free collection on Facebook marketplace. If there is a theme, someone might be interested.

I buy from WOB regularly but have never tried selling, so I would be interested to hear peoples experiences.

Check the value of your books first. A lot of second hard books are only worth 50p and then you have to sort shipping etc. is that really worth it?

A lot of old books from my family had to go to recycling. Things like old travel guides, computer book s for outdated machines, biographies of politicians or celebs from 20 years ago. There is no market for them.

I have used the app a couple of times. It's very easy and the boxes were collected by courier exactly when they were supposed to be. The value of books is really variable - some they have lots of so won't take, some are worth 10p, then you have a random one worth £2.63 or something. However it's very easy to scan the books and see what they will give you and then decide.

For me it was well worth it as just so easy and I didn't have to take the books anywhere - a whole box is heavy. What WoB didn't want I gave to a charity book shop.

Yes I’ve done it twice and it’s excellent.

You scan the books, they quote a value (usually between 10p and £2.50) and add them to your “basket”. When you’re ready you check out, box them up and they schedule a courier (DPD here) to collect.

They then check them over, tally any differences (e.g if you missed one out of the box or sent one in a tattered state) and send you the money.

Its so good and so easy.
