Is it just me or do you feel really awkward when you have workmen in your house. It's like I forget how to be a normal human being. I try to stay out the way but around if they need me. They are all over the house so I can't just shut myself In a room. I just don't know what to do with myself. Their really nice blokes so it's not them it's me 🙈. Do others feel like this or am I massively overthinking this

Haha! I’m exactly the same and I’m not an awkward person in any other situation! And not a chance I’m giving workmen I don’t know keys to the house/alarm codes etc 😂

Exactly I'm generally a normal person i talk to hundreds of strangers and day in my job no problem but for some reason in this situation I just fall apart 🤣🤣

Why are you at home, though? If you WFH, just use the room you usually use and tell them to avoid it for now. If you’re not working, and find it unbearable, go out?

I'd never leave workmen in the house without either me or OH being here. We've had far too many bad experiences to risk it. I know they're not all bad, but when you've had some pretty awful experiences, you tend to be more wary. We don't hang around watching their every move, but one of us is around to "supervise" and call them out if they start to take the piss or do things wrong.
