Where has what been reported? I was responding to a comment that she was "another child actor destroyed".

This makes me really sad. I’ve just started a Buffy rewatch and am on season 2 so no Dawn yet; always thought she was perfect as that character.

Why did she need a liver transplant?

Did she have hepatitis?

Alcohol?

Any way it's so sad.

Yes liver transplant as a result of alcohol abuse. Unfortunately many (ie everyone but two) of the alumni of Buffy have not met with post-Buffy success.

How sad for such a young woman and how traumatic for her poor mother to find her daughter dead. RIP

I remember around the time she was on gossip girl it was being reported her drinking was a problem.

So sad to hear she has died and so young.

Very sad. I also loved her in Buffy and Gossip Girl. Always been interested in anything she's done since because of those iconic roles.

Did it still hold up? I'm really tempted to rewatch but am worried it will not be as good as I remember.

As a Buffy fan from the start who thought she was lovely as Dawn, really saddened by this.

Fame, especially young fame, can be so destructive. RIP Michelle.

For those contemplating a rewatch of Buffy, there are also some good rewatch podcasts to listen to as you go. None of them are perfect but they all bring a slightly different spin on the series.

My favs are:

Boys Watching Buffy ;interesting take from a male perspective)
Buffering The Vampire Slayer (a bit holier than thou at times but some great cast interviews)
The Rewatcher (bit annoying at times as they woefully misinterpret a few things, but good overall)

Juliet Landau (Drusilla) has also launched her own podcast on the series but they’re only on S1 and have already had to reboot it as the format wasn’t working. I’m sticking with it for now as I hope once they get to S2 and Dru appears she’ll have done good behind the scenes insights.

I love Buffering the Vampire Slayer, I did a full rewatch whilst listening to each episode last year. They have started again with a 'spoilers' version so will be listening to that too

Very sad. Oddly I had just decided to rewatch a couple of episodes of Buffy when I saw the news. I skipped straight to Season 5 to watch her first episodes.

I think so. Generally. I rewatched Buffy and Angel last year. There is an order to it as some episodes flow.

My age. 2 months older than me, almost. I was massively obsessed with Buffy. I still have a tall bookshelf next to my bed, filled with Buffy books. It's one of those phenomenas where it connected us all, so it makes us all sad. It's really, really sad.

Very sad indeed. R.I.P. 😢 Loved her in Buffy. My 2 adult DC are shocked, they loved Buffy back in the day, and remember her as Dawn. (Buffy's sister.) She was in Gossip Girl too (though I have never seen that tbh.)
