If you're a teacher what gift would you appreciate the most

My dd has quite a lot of difficulties, this resulted in a year off school at one point.

She got a new guidance teacher last year and he has honestly been amazing, communicative, helps dd in any way he can, he honestly goes above and beyond, sometimes I just feel like all I do is moan at him about stuff (a lot of bullying due to dds disabilities) but he listens, and adapts to dds needs.

I want to get him a gift to show him how much dd and I appreciate all he has done, I have bought a thank you card, and will express how grateful I am, but I would like to get him a little something as well.

Usually at the end of the year for my younger kids teachers I'll get a (small) lego set, which seems to go down well, but I don't really know what a secondary teacher would like, or if it's even appropriate?

I am a teacher and what means the most to me is the handwritten notes from pupils or parents. I keep cards with nice messages and re-read them to remind myself of children who I have had a positive impact on (esp when things are tough).

I absolutely will be doing that, and dd will do the same, he's done so much I just want to go get the moon on a stick for him honestly, a card doesn't seem enough somehow.

I'm so glad those lovely messages keep you going through the tough times, I can't even comprehend how difficult the job must be at times.

I had a teacher like that for my DS.

As he moved up to the senior part of the school, I wrote a card, had a print made of something he regularly said to the children and a bottle of the best champagne I could afford at the time..

He cried when he saw the print.

He was hands down one of the kindest most dedicated teachers I've ever met. He was born to teach and care.
