I'm just wondering something...

I woke this morning to find that some of the pillows I slept with were on the floor. They fell down by the side of the bed where I have a dehumidifier. The dehumidifier was knocked over.

I am just wondering - could I use a bedrail to keep my pillows in my bed?

I don't have any young children or very elderly at home. A bed rail would only be for keeping my bedding in my bed instead of on the floor.

I don't see what the problem is OP.

Surely if you want to use a bed rail because it would be useful for you it's no body else's business?

NuffSaidSam · 24/02/2025 10:06

Yeah, if you want.

Or move the dehumidifier away from the bed.

You can do whatever you like in your own bed!

What will you put on the form when applying for the bed rail license if you have no elderly or young DC in the house?

Please don’t say you’re planning on buying a bed rail illegally/without a license.

Why not, if you think it would help?

Another option is to have bedside cabinets up next to the bed that are a bit higher than your bed so they stop the pillows sliding off - may or may not be feasible depending on your room layout and the height of your bed,

Edited

But remember if you are in the UK you must apply for the relevant licence.
A license application form may pop up first on a Google search but beware. It will not be valid for UK use.
Many people are caught out like this.

Eh? License?!

Eh? License?!

They're taking the piss out of the OP because she felt the need to justify her desire for a bed rail - as if they are only 'allowed' for children and the elderly.

However, I think it was clear that OP was trying to justify the purchase in a 'would it work and be worth the money' sort of way, rather than questioning whether she would fall foul of the bed rail police!

Sometimes when my family comes to visit I might need to share my room. They might think it's weird if I have a bed rail.

If anything a bedrail would be more useful when my family comes to visit because that's when so many bedding ends up on the floor from am overnight sleep.

My pillows never move in the night?! Are you using 1970s nylon bedding?! If so, that needs a licence more than a bed rail! 🤣

No, all cotton bedding.

Yeah, I don't know how I fight and trash myself around my bed at night.

I don't understand this. Do you throw pillows out of bed in excitement that your mum's sleeping on the sofa or something??

Have you considered sleeping in the bath?

No, if there isn't enough space, my niece might share my bed with me and that's when everything ends up on the floor by morning during our sleep.
