Need advice from swimmers about goggles pls

I am very short sighted (-10:00 both eyes).

I have always struggled with swimming because of my poor vision. swimming without being able to see is quite scary. Goggles (cheap ones) always let in water, unless they’re so tight they hurt me. I think I must just have an awkward shaped face (high cheekbones, maybe this has something to do with it).

Anyway, today I thought ‘sod it’ and went swimming with my contact lenses in (dailies). I LOVED IT! I have finally found a form of exercise I genuinely love, but I also don’t want to endanger my sight.

So- I need help finding some goggles that will not let water in without them being so tight to my face that I feel my eyeballs are going to pop out.

Please, any recommendations for really good goggles? I don’t mind paying a reasonable amount for a casual swimmer, and I don’t mind of they look stupid. I just really want to be able to wear contacts with them AND feel comfortable (open to prescription goggles, but I STILL don’t want water in my eyes even without contacts in, so my priority is the water seal, really).

Many thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Prescription goggles might be a better solution.

Do you have a small head? Children’s goggles might fit better. And are you adjusting the bit between the lenses? The nose bridge bit, can’t think of proper word!

These fit my head well.

Your best bet is to go somewhere and try them on. Perhaps décathlon? Not sure where sells them apart from pools.

I think Specsavers sell prescription goggles. Mine are from Decathlon and fit as well as any goggles but that doesn't mean they'll fit you.

I've bought from here before
I dont think you're supposed to wear lenses in the pool

I got some prescription goggles from Amazon. Can't remember the brand. They are really good. Fit fine. You just pick the prescription for your strongest eye. Not sure if they do the full range of strengths but worth a look. They were only about £20.
