What car did I see yesterday?

I drove past it in the opposite direction so the description is a little vague as I only had a brief view.

It was a boxy little car, similar size to a Hyundai Inster. The logo on the middle front and middle back was a circle, possibly with something inside it. The logo was smaller than the Citroen logo, so not an E-C3. It was two tone with a bronze/orange body and a cream/white top (I think cream from the bottom of the windows upwards).

Any ideas?

I’m now falling into a rabbit hole of small boxy shaped cars and fancy one of these….

New Renault 5

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 21/02/2025 17:40

Not the Pixis Mega or the Daihatsu Wake, although they are much closer to what I saw than other suggestions, and they are also ugly-cute like the Ami.

Not the Renault 5, I watch a lot of electric car YouTube videos so I've already seen that enough to recognise it if I saw it in the flesh.

It's also not a Leapmotor T03, although it's similar and has a sort of circular logo. The Baojun Kiwi is two-tone but the wrong shape.

Still looking online.

It might possibly be an Ora R1, right colour, two tone, slightly odd looking, circular-ish logo. https://zbtchina.en.made-in-china.com/product/udSaxGLTTpYR/China-Gwm-Ora-R1-High-Speed-Motor-SUV-Nedc-301km-351km-401km-Long-Range-Mini-Sedan-Electric-Car-Price-Autos-with-ABS-Ebd-Bas-Asr.html

I'm not sure what one would be doing in Dublin if that's what it was, it must have either been a review car for motor journalists or a special import.

Dacia spring?

Yes, it's almost certainly something weird from somewhere like China or Korea. I'm pretty sure I've never seen it before, so not any of the mentions above.

I think the logo/badge is similar in size and shape to Skoda, but Skoda don't do that shape of small car.

Not a SsangYong?

WindDothBlow · 21/02/2025 21:38

This?

Possibly, it's the closest I've seen so far.

I did see an electric Mini in this colour combo. a while ago. partner is a car expert (car related job) and he stopped to look at it as he had not seen one before and wasn't sure what it was.
