6 year old tantrums

Trying to gauge whether my 6 year old DDs tantrums are atypical, I would have thought she would have outgrown these by now?

She can have up to 10 tantrums a day over really minor things, this morning she woke up in a terrible mood and started shouting at me immediately as she needed a wee but didn’t want to go to the toilet?? Offered to take her to the toilet, she refused so I just left her to her tantrum and she eventually calmed down.

Usual tantrums can be over me asking her to do things such as brush her teeth or what she would like for breakfast. Typically there is always a tantrum before bed as she’s not had enough time to play ‘schools’ which is her favourite game, lining up teddies and pretending to be her teacher.

I am wondering if these could be a sign of autism or not? She is getting on pretty well at school, has friends and gets involved in lessons.

Fussy with food and the textures of some clothing. She can also become upset if we have too many plans as she likes to be at home and have a ‘house’ day fairly often.

She did have wild tantrums as a toddler which involved banging her head on things and screaming to the point of vomiting.

My son was very similar and it turned out he had autism. Also fussy with food and textures.

Both of mine had the end of the day tantrums about not having had time to do x or y at this age. One neurotypical, the other we are considering ADHD but this specific issue I think is about them having a bit more imagination as they get older about what other activities they could have done, rather than just being in the moment as when they are little. So I think that aspect is maybe part of growing up.
