Has anyone sat front row of the upper circle with young children?

They are marked as restricted view and I'm wondering if it's height related (i.e. r restriction is worse if you're shorter) because it doesn't seem to be a bad view to me.

I've asked the theatre but they are (deliberately!?) vague.

Thank you!

Is it from a bar going across? A lot of London theatres have them as a restricted view due to the bar when sat down.

It’s the bar (safety bar).

I’ve previously booked tickets for the opera and didn’t find it bothered me too much.
Younger children will probably be able to see “under” the bar (or through the bar iykwim).

Don't know that venue specifically, but this is common in many theatres / convert halls as there is a railing on the "wall" at the front of the circle, which blocks the eyeline.
I'm not even particularly short but the one time I sat there, my view was impaired the whole time. To the extent I'll not go rather than book a seat there (and generally, I'm a "cheap seats" kind of a person, so don't mind being up in the gods, or right on the edge of the seating).
