Help! Reusable incontinence pads?!

I had my second baby 5 months ago and my pelvic floor is shit.
I'm doing all the exercises and so on but in the meantime I need a bit of help to protect my clothes because they are starting to smell.
It's not loads, I don't pee myself, just dribbles. I didn't think I'd be here so soon! <cries>

What do you use?
I use menstrual cups for my period, so want something similarly reusable.

There's so many options!

You might need a repair OP. I'd make an appointment for a check up.

No idea about reusable incontinence,.I just used the tena pants. They're pretty decent. Or the pads.

OddBoots · 20/02/2025 20:52

I use these reusable pads for my unpredictable cycle but they also work for occasional stress incontinence so they may be worth a try. The charcoal is meant to be any odour.

I use bloom and Nora pads, have done for years. They are comfortable and wash well.

I’ve got some others as well but can’t recall the brand.

Keep doing your pelvic floor exercises!

Minivivi is a brand I recommend. The lady who makes them is lovely and very helpful

I will definitely go for a check up soon!
I kinda have other stuff I need to bug my doctor about first and I want to see if exercise will help.

I will check out the recommendations, thank you!

I wear a lot of hiking leggings so they need to not be very visible.

What about bamboo inserts you use in reusable nappies?

OctopusSexArm · 20/02/2025 21:05

Oh and I am definitely doing my exercises!

I'm only bloody 40, I didn't expect to be here so soon.
I'm slowly getting back into my general exercise regime including a lot of pelvic focused yoga so . hoping that will work out.

Be aware that a menstrual cup can make a prolapse/incontinence worse. Worth looking in to.

Period pants might be a good option for something less visible than a bulky pad?

Branleuse · 20/02/2025 21:15

Period pants!

mindutopia · 20/02/2025 21:18

You can just use normal light cloth pads like you’d use for your period. There are a million options. You don’t need to be using anything silly like bits from cloth nappies. 😂 I found the menstrual cup really didn’t work for me anymore after having a baby, so that may be something to switch out too.

Check out Honour Your Flow - they're made for periods but can be used for incontinence too - plus they wash really well.

Depends how much you leak but I wear Wuka incontinence pants at the gym which are fully washable and also hide odours - I felt like I could smell it when wearing period pants, probably me being hyper aware but still hated it.

It is improving with regular pelvic floor so there is hope

I'm 34 and in the same boat. Been waiting about 9 months for an op (must chase). I use cotton reusable pads. You can also get a tampon type thing from the GP. Goes in the vagina and pushes your urethra shut essentially.
