Dear all

Posting in this space for traffic, but as the title states, Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (Southend University Hospital) has knowingly employed a gynecologist with a prior conviction for sexually assaulting patients.
Despite the severity of the offense, which includes 24 proven cases of misconduct, this doctor has continued to practice within the Trust for years. The misconduct originally took place at Guernsey Hospital.

"Tribunal Findings and Allegations
The medical tribunal panel found dozens of allegations against Dr. Shokouh-Amiri to be proven, including:
• Improper Examinations: Conducting intimate examinations without a chaperone present on multiple occasions.
• Unconsented Surgeries: Removing patients’ ovaries without their consent or clear clinical justification.
• Inappropriate Behaviour: Touching, hugging, and kissing patients during consultations, and inappropriate communication such as suggesting a patient join him at the gym."

Yet they deemed him fit to work !!!

Following public outcry, a petition has been launched to demand justice and protect women in South Essex, particularly in the Southend area. Media outlets have already covered the story, and local MPs have raised their concerns. Your support is crucial—please take a moment to read and, most importantly, sign the petition to stand with the women affected.

Together, we can push for change and ensure this never happens again. Thank you.

I don't understand why he isn't facing criminal charges

  • Touched Patient D’s clitoris and wiped their vaginal area after an examination, failed to have a chaperone present

Surely that's sexual assault?

Removing ovaries without consent? Surely that's assault. I've been told the patient was a 17yo girl - left infertile for no reason.

The dr who burnt his initials into patients livers for a joke was charged with assault by beating and found guilty. And struck off. This seems worse.

I hope every female within a 50 mile radius of this hospital refuses to see him.

Absolutely! The whole situation makes no sense—it’s as if there’s some hidden reason why he should be allowed to continue practicing.

At the same hospital, just a couple of days ago, news broke that a nurse (I think it was male) was caught sexting a vulnerable patient. As a result, he’s being struck off the register. Now, don’t get me wrong—sexting a patient is completely unacceptable, but it’s nowhere near as serious as what this doctor has done. Yet somehow, the consequences for the nurse are far more severe. I just don’t get it.
